Yep. BFG m/t, or perhaps Coopers. Will offer up the 285/70/r17 see if they'll take them etc

If it’s raining MT are the worst.
It was a revelation ditching a set of MAXXIS RAZR asap for AT then driving on the road in foul weather including snow.
MT are best in MUD pure & simple.

Admittedly they look “cool” but sliding off the side of the road in rain/snow spoils the look.

My ko2's aren't great on wet tarmac and my's km3's are worse by some margin.

Snow, the AT's have it over the MT's but definitely MT's better than standard tyres in the white stuff.

Having said all that the MT's aren't just good in mud but sand, rocks, wet grass they have it hands down.

Depends what you're after and down to personal experience

I have a very precise idea and experience of tires for our SLK and for the w203. Only Continental, unbeatable.

But I have not the slightest idea for 4wd and / or the Grenadier. So I ordered the KO2s, because (shame on me) they look good - and (less shame on me) because they seem extremely durable and robust according to the youtube reviews I've seen. And with the rough package they did in fact cost nothing extra.

I'll see.

Am considering the alloys with BFGs and then getting a set of steelies loaded with MTs to swap on for the weekend. That was the setup I used with my Disco and it worked well. Sucked lugging those tires around but it made the weekdays on pavement and the weekends off-road much more enjoyable.

Steel wheels would be available to purchase from the INEOS Agent

Yes. I was essentially saying I would spec the truck with the alloys and AT/BFGs and purchase a set of the INEOS steel wheels to mount MT/more aggressive off-road tires. I could then run the alloy set up during the week back and forth to work and then swop out the MTs for playtime.

I’m sticking with ATs for the moment.

I ran Cooper STT tyres for a long time on my Disco 3 and while generally good the stony desert roads scalloped the rear tyres in a massive way. Eating chunks out of them. Quite concerning at one stage.

I talked to the tyre guy in Birdsville and he stated MT tyres used on the stony roads tended to suffer that fate. Since that conversation I’ve run aggressive ATs.

MT tyres are favoured by those who get them as a yearly sponsorship deal. They are great tyres , but bits do fall off them.

yep, same here. love the AT's but no substitute for MT's when needed. Was out yesterday and my D4 got thru ruts with MTs while another with ATs gave up even after airing down to 1bar. Of course in other conditions the AT would be the winner.

thats a shame. here in UK asf;

sometimes searching imperial sizes can flag up cheaper deals here in UK.
Sorry mate I meant it doesn’t look like IG offer the 285 as an option here.

Just looking at the rear doors (and sorry if this has been covered elsewhere I couldn’t find anything) I’m concerned that fitting 33’s (285-70-17) will stop you from opening the rear small door as the spare tyre could overhang. Anyone done checking on this?? Although maybe it’d be fine give 31” 18’s are an option.

aah got you.

yes think the 33's could hamper rear door but might have to fabricate a bracket so can shift spare to offside a bit
