I recently lifted my Grenadier and put Toyo open country RT 35’s on my rig. I’m happy with how it looks but have questions about how it drives. I’m getting a some shaking at higher speeds like the tires are not balanced properly. Usually from 67 mph to about 78mph. I have been to discount tire two times now to force balance all four tires and that helped a little bit. The question I have is should I be getting any vibration at high speeds with 35s or is this just come with the territory of a lift and bigger tires on this vehicle? I don’t expect to have a BMW smooth ride, but I’m looking for something close to what I had on the Grennybefore I put the lift and tires on. Maybe I’m just being too critical, and not used to a lifted vehicle but thought I would ask the community here for any advice or experience with this situation. I’ve ordered the Fox 2.5 DSC elite that will be installed later this week as well. Hoping that will sort some things out. Thanks in advance.

Might be the tires? I’m running 2.5” with MT Baja boss 255/85/17 (skinny 35”) and no vibrations. Might be worth posting in the tire section with the exact tires you are running (including size) and see if anyone else is having this experience as I bet others have them.

Why would anyone want to drive a lifted 4wd with 35’s at nearly 80 mph would be the most logical question but then again being an Aussie we have been brainwashed into thinking speed kills and all accidents are caused by speed not the nut behind the wheel
Here in Texas, some hwy speeds go up To 85mph.

Just to clarify, I hate the nanny state speed limits and regularly drive well above the posted limit but having said that I bet not many are brave enough to try a emergency avoidance and brake manoeuvre at 80 in a lifted 4by running big tires

I am lifted with the same toyo AT's in 35x11.50 17. I have ran this set up for over a year (probably 16k out of the 19,500 miles I have on it). No vibrations at 80+ mph.

Unless it shaking more than it did when I drove it then it's fine. Thats just the more aggressive tire. Thats exactly why I chose the tires I have.

You're welcome to slap my steelies on with the stock tires and see for yourself, they are just sitting in my hanger gathering dust.

Mud terrains are not overly suited for higher speeds and the grenadier isn't so much either. But mine will do over 100 with the same lift and size tires, it's just that mine are more road oriented all terrains.
