As most of us probably do, we buy things and then our plan changes LOL. I bought the leitner 3/4 roof rack once I got the grenadier. Really happy with it but decided to go down the roof top tent road and try that. Gonna get an alucab tent. I already have the leitner rack but it doesnt make sense to attach it to a rack and just add more weight up there.

1) do I just take the whole rack off and go with an alucab mount for the grenadier (I believe they use two mounts and two load bars, not 100 percent sure)
Would this method keep the tent as low as possible on the roof?
Is it the "strongest" way of mounting tent?
Can I use the alucab table (with the slide mounts) to carry a table with me ?

2) Do I keep the 4 attachment points of the leitner rack and order 4 load bars from Leitner and use those to mount the tent to
Will this sit higher then the alucab mount way?
Any advantage to having the weight spread out on 4 bars vs 2?
could I still somehow have an alucab table with the slide brackets for it?

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated

ps. not even sure if I can mount the tent to leitner load bars but I would assume with alucab being a big player in the market that there must be attachment brackets

I would check in with Leitner on the HD load bar with an Alu-Cab tent. I know Leitner runs and Alu-Cab Shadow awning on their bars. Here’s the link to their mounting brackets - but Alu-Cab is not listed as a certified tent. I would email them and ask. Some tents also require 3 load bars to eliminate floor flex.
