General Motor reliability

Yes both B57 and B58 are both from what I can find very good engines. If you go buy the owners forums for BWM etc - then we are in good hands.

I know of 2 guys putting B57s in their Defenders, and now there's this welded on Nisssan guy (a very accomplished 4 wheeler) putting one in an old Nissan. So they must be good offroad.

I’ve a friend who worked for BMW for years training apprentices and is now working for Williams F1. Spoke to him last week regards the Grenadier and he reckons both the B57 and B58 are bullet proof in his words as long as properly maintained.

Considering the Ineos B57 appears to have been de-rated at least 50Nm from a "standard" B57, reinforces the intent for long term reliability....(y)

I still would have loved the 235kw - 680Nm twin turbo version with reliability.🥳
You can only ever have 2 out of the 3: "fast - reliable - cheap", so stop dreamin'!

Not sure any of these have been known to be unreliable, but I get your point
