Uk government are assessing electric vehicles so as to save the world from global warming during military action, I'm assuming they are also trying out biodegradable bombs that disintegrate prior to impact to avoid damage and loss of life.
The idea is quiet vehicles that emit less heat and don't need the fuel lines to the front line. I think they are planning installing charging infrastructure on the war fields so will require notice prior to any war to get the infrastructure implemented and if your electric vehicles are waving a 'charging' flag you can't attack.

Australian military chose the G Wagon as their base transport and special surveillance vehicle in 2009 and I know Ineos will be interested in a potential replacement deal when they need to be replaced.
With the G wagon potentially coming to an end of life I wonder if Ineos would be able to drop a Mercedes engine in it to replace the BMW engine.???
Strange that Magna currently makes the G wagon variants and has been known to have some ties to Ineos.
Having the Wagon, dual cab ute and cab chassis would be very interesting for the military and as Toyota are not interested that doesn't leave a lot of options.

I like 3:58 into this video when they mention that after several rollovers and occupant injuries the Australian military chose to modify driver behaviour rather than modify the vehicles.

Part of the original contract is for Mercedes to be able to supply parts and support vehicles for 20 to 22 years. The compromise was galvanised chassis that Mercedes would not supply. Toyota was not going to do the military mods and was unable to confirm long term support for LC.

I think they'll go for the G580. So that they comply with the emission limits. Btw, I am just sitting at my Mercedes Dealer talking about Mercedes' strategy for electric vehicles. I think they‘ve miscalculated.

A Pinzgauer replacement developed by Magna Steyr produced by Ineos is what my wildest dreams would be. I was at Magna in Graz yesterday and in their Servicing department is full of old Pinzgauers and G Wagons. They have a backyard full of toys. Wonderful.

Btw. this is how it looks inside STEC the MAGNA service division. Cars get service, repair, restoration and a lot of modifications. Offroad enthusiasm everywhere you look.
