£748 seems a bit excessive for a 42" light bar?

A bit, but it depends on brand and fitment etc. Sure, you can buy a cheap Chinese lightbar for £100 and install it yourself, but that's probably not going to look great in a year, and wont perform like a premium brand.

A 40" Rigid Industries radiance (entry level Rigid model) lightbar in the UK is about £550 give or take. Add to that a couple hours labour for shop fitment, wiring loom, mounting brackets.... you're pretty much there.

I don't know what brand INEOS have gone with, but if its any of the top premium brands then that's fair money for an OEM to charge. If its a no name cheapo, then yeah its a rip-off.

For reference I had a range of Rigid products on my Jeep for years, they gave great performance, easy fitment, held up to UK winters for 9 years without any corrosion. Id pay the money for them in a heartbeat. In fact I retained my 9 year old Rigid Duallys when I sold the Jeep, and may fit them as work lights to the Grenadier, they look like new.

I wont be speccing the lightbar on my grenadier, as id like to fit something myself down the line.

Totally concur. I have a Baja Designs Squadron Pro set on my motorbike. They are amazing. Consistent light output, perfect color temp and robust build. Being on a bike they get subject to harsh conditions like road grime, heat and vibration. They are expensive but totally worth it. If Ineos are using a quality item from Lightforce or BD or Rigid then the price isn’t unreasonable but not for a cheapie.
I am more curious if that price includes installation or are dealers gonna gouge there. Especially the winch which is a pretty pricey item and the install isn’t as simple.

Yeah I'm 99% sure that price includes fitment.

It is not about $750 vs. $100. There is something in between.

With respect to the "snorkel", which is in fact a one meter plastic tube for 744€, I consider it normal that one questions the prices.

It says on the terms and conditions that all accessories pricing includes installation. If there is an * next to the part then it is fitted by the local dealer after registration.
At least that is correct for Australia

I must have missed that. Glad to know that the prices include installation by the dealer. This whole Covid and supply chain chaos has left a bad taste in my mouth with dealers and their shenanigans.
before the Grenadier orders opened last year, I was at the local Toyota and keep dealerships exploring an LC200 and Jeep Rubicon respectively. The haughtiness and markups were laughable. $10k for the Jeep and $25k for LC. I remembered thinking “you just wrote off a $90k or $65k sale. The tides will turn and we buyers will remember which dealers were worth working with”

Supposedly the final price after you pick your options and selections is not too far from the base price - but I guess that is not true.  The full size roof rack is about 4K!

I have no issue with their after market. For example Ko2 tyres in Aus are 400+ each, so simply speaking if everything is equal we are swapping standards for AT for a couple of hundred each.

I am planning on going with aftermarket Lazer LED Lights
1 x Round 230mm Sentinel 32 LED 15,232 Lumen driving light mounted on the bar in the centre
2 x 200mm rectangular ST-4 4 LED 4,136 Lumen mounted down in the openings in the bumper with the Amber covers fitted so I can use them as  fog lights on road and take the covers off for extra light off-road.
I don't need to see 4kms down the road I am more interested in seeing the kangaroos, emu's, wombats and other animals who are on the sides of the roads and about to jump out
Also add worklights on the side and rear

Nice DaveB!  I believe we have similar after-market lighting options in USA.  Otherwise, I'll contact you!  :)

@DaveB but won’t those mounting locations obstruct airflow? Especially the ST4-4 which will basically cover the inter cooler areas?

I will have to see when I get my hands on one.
I don't think the intercooler is behind those openings I think they are just cosmetic.
I looked through all the pictures, documents and videos and couldn't see them going anywhere
If they do then I will mount the ST-4's on the bar instead
There is room to mount them under the bar that I am putting the round driving light on

I don't think so. If you try to cover your radiator in the winter time to get your operating temperature higher, you'l find that the effect is modest. The air finds her way through all gaps.

However, if the car is at the limit in very hot conditions, I'd mount cardboard mockups with some double  sided tape and watch my oil and water temperatures.  In hot Australia that might make sense.

There isn't anything directly behind the two bumper grills so they are no problem.
There was an oil/transmission cooler the right one but I believe that has now moved.
There was never anything behind the left one.
as for the centre it is a 230mm circle mounted about 150mm in front of the grill.
I doubt it will have any impact.
As emax said if I was running hot in a 45+ degree day then it may have some small impact.
As they say ...only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun....I am neither.
