I’m 68 and think this will be the last new vehicle I buy (that’s what I told her indoors!).

I was told by Ineos that when we paid our £450 reservation fee that bought us a position in the assembly line.  As long as I confirm my vehicle, specifications and pay the £2050 balance in the first two weeks it is still guaranteed.  No claim jumping by those getting in early on the 18th.

Exactly, no need to hurry.

Thanks to 90% of my company catching COVID I have to go to a trade show in Brisbane from midday until 8.30pm tomorrow. The configurator will go live while I am talking to customers and then driving home on the motorway for an hour.

Dave, why not take your Covid break tomorrow? ?

I would be interested to know the ages of the people buying these vehicles.
Students can (in a normal world) not afford such cars.
30-45 year old guys will be taken away their money by their wifes and children.
45 to 55 years old guys will prefer Porsches.

So I guess, the average age will come close to that of the E-class buyers. ?

I am 44 years old. As they told me while co-driving the prototype, they constructed the car for a lifetime of 40-45 years. So tecnically it might be my last car as well ?
As the configuration in Germany works fine I am just waiting for the billing process. Every time I try to check out via "Kasse" (probably cash point in english) The system crashes. So now I just wait that the update sign in the corner right below stops "circulating"...

I will be 60 by the time it arrives and have a wife, 2 kids and 3 grandchildren
I can't wait for it and my wife loves it and she is 63.
She would die if I bought a boring old mans car.
Of course the price may remain a bit of a secret.

I'm 45  and wife, a kid, and a second kid arriving in July of this year.  I have several friends that I have introduced to the Grenadier.  They are in their early to mid 40's with families.  All have deposits down.

I live in the Land Downunder. I have been attempting to pay the remainder of the deposit for the past 24 hrs, different computers and different credit cards. The result is the same...when I hit the "Buy Now" button then hit the "I agree" on the T's & C's , it wirrs away for 5 seconds then I get a blank white square in the middle of the screen with the dreaded  close X icon in the top RH corner of the square. That's it. Wait 20 mins...still no progress, refresh, the "Buy Now/I agree"options re-appear, then the white square...
I've phoned the UK 1800 number...no joy there..."try again in a few hours"
Very tired and cranky!!
Other than that the incessant rain ceased today...for most of the day, I suppose that's something! ?

Well Grenadier did call me back and I got mine ordered yesterday. Trialmaster in Britannia blue with a few extras.  Build date October. Now the interesting thing was told is that later It may well turn in to the delivery date and not the build date, let’s hope so.  Only another £62500 to find now!

I faced the same issue with a Firefox browser and solved it by using a different computer (Apple). Others did it with their phone.

The white field is your credit card verification check window and it should ask you for your E-TIN and/or a code you‘ll be sent to your phone. If it stays white and does not show text try with a different browser, computer or phone.

Thanks for the update. Regretfully I don't have access to an Apple computer. I've tried two different (Master) cards (different banks), MS Edge, Firefox etc but all the same result. Will wait and see what eventuates tomorrow. The Help Line chap was very helpful and explained that once the payment was made, the ultimate priority for a given market would be in order of the initial deposit... "So don't worry "he said!  "don't worry, be happy"came to mind?

Just wait
What is the hurry?
Will a day or two really make that much difference?
My slot is the end of February... shit I have to wait until March
Take a chill pill, or a scotch, and relax
