I went to pull away and the truck jumped into park . What have I done wrong?
The truck has done less than 500 miles and already fed up with the constant bongs and warning lights. How do I turn it all off before I loose my mind and take to using a hammer. Maybe I should get Trump involved!

Did you have your seat belt on?

You can turn the volume down for alerts in Setting. Some like the common “low” fuel and open ajar warnings still are loud but most of the rest can be adjusted lower…but not off.

The over speed warning (clicking sound) you can set up as a favorite (next to the dial on center console) to turn it off. It doesn’t stay off however. It resets every time you turn off your truck…reason the Favorite button is useful because it jumps 3-4 menu layers automatically vs. if you were to do via the touchscreen.

No I didn't have my seat belt on, but I did have a warning to secure the vehicle. I was only moving the truck around the drive .
I can't believe throwing the truck into park while moving off will do it any good.

Once it stops, just put it back into D again and it should go without going back into P

For what ever reason mine doesn’t do that anymore (go into P with the door open). I do it all the time because I have to open a gate, so from the time I jump in and drive toward the gate, I drive with the door open.

It’s just another nanny device because there are so many people who get out of the car with it still in D and end up smashing into a home, another car, person, etc…. Good, bad, or indifferent much of the rules/regulations in our world have been created because of the idiots who live among us😂😂

If it says secure the vehicle it means there is a door open and it will put it in drive

If you want to move the vehicle without seatbelt on then just hit the offroad mode button on the roof.
Only works up to about 30 kmh though

I often used to reverse the LR with the door open cant do this with the Grenadier why did they do this it cant be any good for the transmission I thought it had broken the first time it happened . Why Ineos?

It thinks it's going to roll away if you don't have the brake on... I get it fairly often if on a slight incline and I put it in drive, it will over-ride and go into park. Very interventionist, and very annoying (this is my first "auto" in over 20 years, and I'm not enjoying it). Try the old "manual" hillstart method, start with hand brake or foot on the brake, put in drive and increase revs...

Many modern vehicles have a safety feature that automatically shifts the transmission into park when a door is opened, a feature intended to prevent the vehicle from rolling away.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
Safety Feature:
This automatic "park" function is designed to prevent accidents, especially when someone opens a door while the vehicle is in motion or if the driver forgets to shift into park.
How it Works:
The car's sensors detect when a door is opened, and the system automatically engages the parking brake or shifts the transmission into park.
Why it's a Safety Feature:
This feature is particularly helpful in situations where a driver might be distracted or forget to put the car in park before exiting, potentially leading to a rolling vehicle.
Overriding the Feature:
While the feature is generally intended to be a safety measure, some drivers find it inconvenient. There may be situations where it is necessary to override the automatic park function, such as when maneuvering in a tight space or when the vehicle is in reverse and the door is opened.
How to Disable (If Possible):
Some vehicles may have a way to disable or adjust this feature through the vehicle's settings, but it is important to note that there is no OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) approved way to disable return to park.
Alternative Solutions:
If the automatic park feature is a recurring inconvenience, some drivers have found workarounds, such as holding down the door jam sensor to trick the vehicle into thinking the door is closed.
Note:
Some vehicles, like the F150, have this feature

Cliff notes:

One person (or small portion of people) shit themselves.... so now we all get to wear diapers!

Saying it wasn't a Ineos thing. But you are correct. The one person that seemed to get the ball rolling was Russian actor run over by his jeep grand Cherokee in 2016 in LA.

It's a growingly popular trend with auto manufacturers for "safety"

Yeah I first noticed this obnoxious feature on my wifes 2016 BMW X3. Super annoying as my driveway is pretty tight and i like to maneuver the cars close to the edge with the door open whoch is not possible now with her car or my Gren.

Mine needs to be in off road mode AND in low range to drive with driver's door open.

You can trick it by "two-footing" the pedals.
Keep light pressure on the brake and press the accelerator pedal.
This seems to keep it from jumping into park.
