I have seen the LeTech ladder for a single can...and the rotopack options....and the side carry by cargo window that hang off grab handles and lock into utility track on bottom. I am hoping someone comes up with a mount for ladder that holds 2x Jerry Cans side by side. I had this set up on ever FJ60, FJC, and UZJ100...and loved it though they all required a custom bumper to swing off. Since we have a true usable ladder am hoping someone makes a carrier that mounts to ladder that allows two of the military style cans side by side. If they can swing out from ladder for short periods to allow climbing it is a bonus...but not deal breaker. Would be less than 140# total weight with rack am guessing.
I love that config so I can carry two for fuel or one for fuel and one for water. I typically do the one fuel and one water for camping excursions and when out with my dog hunting or training so I always have water available. When I traveled cross country I like to have two fuel on rack and then put the water in next to dog crate. On my FJC I put them on a roof rack mount system for a while but am trying to do without a roof rack as long as possible since mine is also a daily driver and not sure would be able to get into parking garage at airport with rack on top....especially with any side rails...would have to be platform only and no more than 4 inches above roofline total height at max...haha.
Anyhow, if anyone knows of anyone that has put something together...would appreciate it. Not a fan of carrying in rear hitch mounted cargo carrier as low to ground if rear-ended by someone....the other options will typically be higher than their bumper and hood especially if they are braking to avoid contact and car submarines lower in front....and kisses my tow bar
.
I prefer the 20L cans and already have a few of them for fuel and water.... thanks again.
