The great thing about the Grenadier is that unlike Porsches and the like , we will not need autobahns to realise the cars potential.
Unlike most other vehicles, the Grenadier will be able to realise its potential scrambling over varying terrain to access the autobahn!

Unfortunately, the German autobahns will soon be history. The Greens will manage that. We will then organise races there with pedal scooters and walking aid for the handicapped. Rosy prospects.
And we will not be angry that the Grenadier is limited to 160 km/h.

I take very often the train to go to Brussels or Antwerp, very cheap because I am an old man: 7.20 €. Cheaper than taking my car!
They have an app (the railways I mean) and in less than 2 minutes, I think even less than one minute, I have paid and my ticket is on my phone. I would guess Deutsche Bahn has also an app.

But indeed there are uncertainties.

And specially for @emax , another country I have been is Syria on my own, by train from my city through Germany (partly with the ICE, indeed very good!), and through Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and to the middle of Turkey. The rest of the trip was with small busses, taxis, etc. That was in 2010, the year before the war, I was lucky, saw things that don't exist anymore. Allepo (Halep) was a magical city, so beautiful. I finished in Jordan and Israel. I came back by plane.
Syria was a splendid country with very nice people! But I felt several times that state agents were watching me. Some "friendly" people always asked me where I was going
I didn't do it by car, because it would have taken me double the time, and I was still working full time.

Now, I would do it by car (Grenadier of course), but I guess it is still not everywhere safe.
I also like to travel by train. Sitting on the train is like sitting on a plane: relaxing, having a coffee and enjoying the panoramic view passing by.

But on the other side is the trip to the airport or train station. Finding a parking space, queues and bureaucracy, security checks and so on. At train stations, you often wait in the cold, which is a particular pleasure when the train is delayed - by an hour, for example.

And that's what makes this kind of traveling so disgusting.

Buying the ticket: a PC is generally much smarter than a smartphone. But the companies are all trying to force people into their apps. Then they have a lot of control. And there's nothing less secure than a cell phone. No, I refuse to install or use apps whenever possible.

So I use my PC. It works, but it's very inconvenient due to the design which is intentionally bad because they don't want you to escape from the app. For example, if you want to make a seat reservation, it's a mess to figure out which direction the train is going: I don't want to sit backwards to the driving direction. There is a button to figure that out, but it often doesn't work (which it does flawlessly in the app btw., as I was shown).

When I booked my ticket to Munich, I struggled through all the pages and clicked the "Pay" button at the very end - and it failed with the telling message "An error occurred." Booking completely lost, start again from scratch. Wow, that's amazing. 🤬 (n)

I tried three times and finally had to switch from Firefox to Chromium (which I hate). Then it worked. What a bummer! It took me a good hour. 💩 🤮

Today I received an interesting call from a nice lady. Since my Grenadier has now gone into production, she wanted to know if I wanted a red or orange rear door. Now would be the very last possibility.
I told her that I had never wanted that and still didn't want it. It must be a mix-up. She took it in and will now clarify with the production. The whole thing is very strange.

Looks like you will be just getting the hi-vis green door then !!

This has started me wondering IF the vehicles start turning up without contracts and we get calls to come and fetch our IG, just how many scenarios there will be, where the agent will literally be going there she is then and pointing to a vehicle that bares no resemblance to what some poor bugger ordered !

Probably followed by, “oh well if that one is no good, I have another six round the back, go take a look and see if one of them is any good” 😃

Hi Rovie, I thought that the nose and door contrast options were wraps and that they'd pulled them due to incompatibility with the paint types. Again Chinese whispers, nothing else.

I don't understand! What does that have to do with the coloured door?
I chose the photo because I was sitting in the vehicle when we changed it to brown. It's a memory of my first passenger experience, so to speak.

Sounds like they are back on, or the customer care rep was very confused.
The employee was from INEOS Automotive. To be on the safe side, I wrote another email to the customer service that I didn't want any paint on the door. I also read through my contract. It doesn't say anything about an orange or red door.

Probably they have too many such doors left. That's why they offer them like sour beer: You're not the first one, I recall.

So we might get a spare door for free?
And they write in big letters “spare” on it.
I heard things with this written on are easy to sell in the UK at the moment.
