Intermittent Squealing/Screeching while driving (not power steering or driveline whine, not related to internal AC or external air whistle)

My TrialMaster has been making more and more frequent squeals and screeches while driving. At first it was very intermittent but is now occurring more frequently. It is most apparent when driving down an urban street where sound echos from the surrounding buildings. The sound is very much like that of a squealing belt, but with of a metallic screech. I had the car in Regal Grenadier in Roswell, Georgia, and they claim they can't replicate the noise, and also claim that they looked at the bearings, brakes, and driveline components, and couldn't find anything. I know my way around vehicles and know that metallic screeching and squealing normally indicates parts rubbing together without lubrication. Has anyone else experienced this? (Again, it's absolutely not the steering pump whine people have noted, or a driveline/gear mesh whine that can occur during deceleration.)

Yep. That's the plan. I'm picking it up from the shop in a little bit. Once it stops raining, I'll hook up a recorder to a suction cup and let it pick up the noise.

Curious if a little stone made its way up inside one of the slots of the shield protecting the ABS/traction control sensor wheel behind the hub and is scraping around? Thought I saw someone else on the forum chasing similar metallics squealing noises and that is what it turned out to be. The Grenadier doesn’t run traditional style backing plates (probably to prevent fouling around the axle hubs off-road) to protect the back of the wheel hubs and brake discs so from time to time small road debris could probably get up in there.

Interesting....I'll check that out. It did start after I had it on a couple of pretty technical, rocky trails.
