Just picked up a new Sterling Silver Trialmaster last week and loving every bit of it! I do some light overlanding trips a few times a year and wanted to know how well the plastics in the cargo area hold up after some use? Does it get scratched/scuffed easier than other cars? Obviously all plastics will scratch but curious to know from other owners how the interior pieces hold up over time. TIA

In my view, the plastics are a weak point from a cosmetic point of view. They will easily scratch, but are otherwise very tough. At some point I plan on bonding carpet to mine.

Agree with the other comments - it will scratch if you look at it too long. I put in a WeatherTech cargo bed liner - it’s OK. Not perfect but fine. But yeah, the wheel wells and seat backs are all scratched up. But whatever. It’s not a GWagen and I don’t really care. You kinda have to embrace the Grenadieriness of it all - this is your chance to give California the double bird. Just go with it.

As others have said, they show scuffs and scratches easily but my ‘23Defender wasn’t any better. With that said, the plasic isn’t fragile or prone to breakage. I carry shooting gear and multiple cases of ammo back there regularly as an instructor and I’ve not had any reason to change the way I load and unload.

Like a SS watch, the first scratch is the worst but after a few hundred scratches from daily use, they all blend together starting as a mirror polish and turning into a “brushed” finish😂😂

If it’s really a concern, hit it with some gray DIY rattle can “bed liner’ like Raptor Liner and you won’t every have to worry about scratches again.

The Eibach springs cardboard boxes left scuff marks all over the cargo area plastics on the drive down to Owl to have them installed. The boxes were not sliding all over the place either, they were packed in snuggly.
