Difficult to advise as all personal circumstances vary so much. Consistently it seems that LV, NFU, Admiral, Hastings, and one or two others do well. Don’t even bother trying Adrian Flux unless £1200.00 just wasn’t enough.

Personal use or not it's still N1 and you may find it easier insuring as a van. That is a Utility Wagon 5-seater for personal use, not Trialmaster or Fieldmaster.
I am waiting NFU to get back to my enquiry.
My business policy covers it for social domestic and pleasure use too. As long as its got some work use (which mine will have) they'll cover it, N1 or M1.Personal use or not it's still N1 and you may find it easier insuring as a van.
Have you tried ourselves for a quotation as of yet? ThanksI got a quote from Admiral which is crazily high. £1200!
Currently I am using General Accident under Aviva group for my Audi A3 but the NCD has been applied to this car.
Any idea of bringing the insurance quote down?
Thanks Stu!All fixed, that was my mistake with the software upgrade.

Trailmaster petrol with tracker and immobiliser, 10k miles/year + wife as second driver, social and commuting:I think AF should be taken off the list of 'preferred' traders when they patently aren't.

Adrian Flux just quoted me over £3k (no not joking!) - useless and not Grenadier specialists and agreed should be removed from 'preferred' traders
Admiral £1290
LV £1567
NFU £843 (as at early August)
Flux insurance were meant to call me back but never did. NFU very goodNot yet heard of anyone getting a competetive quote from Adrian Flux of less than £700.00.
NFU, LV, Admiral, Hastings, and one or two others have provided lots of quotes at least £200.00 less.
I have used Adrian Flux with no issues but this time I have not found them to be any way competitive. I feel a little peeved at Adrian Flux claiming the 'preferred Grenadier insurer' title. Preferred for what? Looking at the posts on here, they are certainly not the preferred insurer.
In UK the first year on a new vehicle is often, if not always, like for like replacement. If concerned, it is definitely one to speak with your insurance company. Publish the outcome on here. Will do the same if I remember. This may be a silly question, but given that a few of us paid the "early adopter" price as they locked us into that figure, what is the deal with making a claim now on a fully comprehensive policy for a total loss/writeoff situation? Do insurance companies use the "price paid" or the current market replacement value in this situation? There is quite a difference in the number for a like-for-like replacement!!
My insurance company asks " the value " of the car, not what you paid. But for me the issue is going to be it will be over £75K. And that puts into a higher group set because on all my previous insured vehicles the policy has just entered " vehicle less than £75k" for years. But the first 2 years if it is a right off it is replacement. This may be a silly question, but given that a few of us paid the "early adopter" price as they locked us into that figure, what is the deal with making a claim now on a fully comprehensive policy for a total loss/writeoff situation? I had a similar explanation from LVI have spoken to my insurance company - it took a while to get to the right person but I was assured that the like-for-like was based on "current market value" not "price paid" - so that is reasonably reassuring. When I arranged the insurance it was "price paid" they asked for and not "current replacement cost". Hence my wanting to clarify as the delta on price right now is quite a lot. This is Admiral BTW.

Insured mine with Swinton yesterday. a bit higher than I am used to paying but I am guessing the the IG is being categorised the same as range rovers the thefts of which are battering insurers hence the price. Pity they haven't worked out that IG have a KEY start rather than something that can be hackedHi all,
Do we have a general consensus as to who is giving competitive rates on insurance yet?

So some of us need other options, and if it helps others I am happy to share because I accept others circumstances may be different.
