Insurance

Also tried Cornmarket who are partnered with IAM, and who list IG. Site has crashed though!
Dont expect them to be competative they never ever have been in all my years as advanced driver ! Crazy

I am currently looking for insurance quotes in the UK as I take delivery in Feb (yay!). The car has finally appeared on insurance company websites this week BUT when you go through the online quotation process they all say you need to speak to someone in person regarding specialist coverage (and they then come back with daft quotes based on it being a "specialist off road vehicle"). LV is the only one which has given an online quotation at all.

Has anyone else managed to get a proper quotation from anywhere else? Or are you all being fobbed off to their specialist section?

Australian market-who is offering insurance here? Will the likes of Shannon's? I can't imagine Youi being competitive...
I tried RACQ, YOUI, APIA and Club 4 x 4 (which was recommended by Neil from INEOS) APIA was the cheapest but I have everything else insured with them.
Then RACQ then Club 4x4 then YOUI was ridiculous.
YOUI also advised they wouldn't cover if taken offroad

Shannon’s provided a decent quote for me - $1100 for $110k of Full coverage. (Roadside assist, excess free windscreen, new for old, choice of repairer, hire car for all claims)

Mind you - this was before the price rise - so now I will have to cover it for $125k

Budget Direct and Woolworths both have the Grenadier now listed. Best quote I ran was with maximum NCB, $979 with $1000 excess and no driver under 50 years old in the theft capital of the Gold Coast.

Ah yes I had to put one driver at 25+ which is why my quotes might be about $150 more. In any case there are 2 or 3 ok covers at the 1100 to 1200 mark which I thinks good for 120k vehicle.

Hey Dav doors Shannon's cover off-road? Obviously of you drive in to water and flood no one will cover us but for general unsealed road / fire track trekking etc?

Insurance is an interesting one. someone could really clean up if they negotiated an exclusive with IA at point of sale/delivery. I wonder if anyone has tried. My dealer tells me that they have tied up with Santander re finance.

Admiral said they couldn't even look at it! OK I'm younger but 53 isn't in the boy-racer category. Maybe I'll try again. And will speak to Mr Flux.
