As noted in the US Manual:

LED Auxiliary High Beam Lights: Switch on or off to prime the LED Auxiliary High Beam Lights. When the main beam is switched on, then the LED Auxiliary High Beam Lights will activate. Off-Road/Wading Mode must be activated.

LED auxiliary lights The Grenadier as standard is fitted with LED Auxiliary Lights. These LED auxiliary high beam lights are in the front grill and are designed for off-road use only. The LED Auxiliary Lights can only be activated with the high beam switched on and Off-Road or Wading mode is active. WARNING: The LED Auxiliary Lights are for use only off road when local laws and regulations permit. They are strictly for off-road purposes and could temporarily blind drivers in oncoming traffic. To Activate LED Auxiliary Lights:
1. Switch on the ignition and press the auxiliary light button in the Overhead Control Panel. 2. The LED in the button will be illuminated to show the system is active. 3. When the headlights are turned on, the auxiliary lights will now also be illuminated.

The manual appears to be describing the European way. Which is just to press the aux light button on the top panel. Offroad mode is not needed.

i'm going to be kicking my head if i'm missing something stupid and i drive an hour to the dealer,
i tried 20 times,
the small display over the steering wheel shows that I'm engaging everything right, when i go outside...no aux. lights on.
the cables are connected to the button of the aux lights as supposed, i check thru the front grill.
unless they forgot to connect the harness from the power source? i just read in the forums that there are no fuse for the lights, they are managed by a cpu of some sort. Oh dear.

As long as you are in either Wading Mode or Off Road (overhead buttons), don't exceed 35mph and have high beams on, then the Aux lights should come on.
*If I get time today, I'll head to garage and get video/pics

yes, thank you. supposedly the aux lights work together with the high beams when of-road mode engage and top panel aux lights is on. I'm going to give it a last test tonight. i already text my sales guy at the dealer and he replayed he is looking into it. The whole system is stupid, you should be able to turn on those lights whenever you like, if you get caught with them on road you will pay the fine or go to jail and that's it. Automobile industry should not be policing people over how to use lights.

I tend to agree. The whole enforcement of safety vs giving the user flexibility is a bit misplaced for this vehicle type. They could have just done warnings that this is off-road only as printed text in the manual or with text near the button.

Its a DOT/NHTSA requirement, and not unique to the grenadier.

I had the same (or similar) configuration in my 2015 Nissan Xterra, for the same reasons.

I understand it may be your first time encountering this requirement, but this is not new or unique.

As someone who has to drive with glasses at night (Stigmatism), let's say I disagree. The types of lights being allowed has nearly caused us to drive off the road.. particularly when some jackhole figures his/her/their ability to see half a mile out trumps all other driver's ability to see.

I'll add that to the next edition of the manual. In Australia we just have to have high beam activated for the Aux lights lights to work. No offroad or wading mode activation needed.

Cheers

Its just aggravating nanny-state gov't over reach BS. And this isn't solely an issue with INEOS. It is everywhere in our current society and it drives me nuts. The typical "One person Sh*t themselves so we all now must wear diapers" mentality.

What our society really needs is a big strong dose of personal accountability!

Much like the all too common ADAS complaints on here.

Whats to keep my from wiring up a gazillion watt LED light bar to one of the EXT switches on the overhead and blinding the piss out of people on the highway? Well I can tell you I'm not going to do that because I'm not some inconsiderate Asshat. But if I was then I should be punished, pulled over and fined, etc.

Stop enacting restrictions/ inconveniences on the masses to make up for the douchebaggery of the extreme minority.

i went to the dealer. they said there was something "not connected to a harness". anyway, now it's working fine. Thank you all for the input.
i really hope the new government take hands on how far the governmental institutions are snicking their tentacles in everything in our lives.
all those DOTLGBT regulations are not other than making cars more expensive, car accidents continue to ramp up and not for careless of safety features but because people texting and watching joe rogan podcast in their phones. lol
maybe there are less "deadly" accidents i need to say.
