on another thread, early December, I had posted that there was over 100 units on hand for my geo. Same search, the number today is 4 less than previously reported. My search was based on new inventory only. Does this mean that for the SoCal area that they have only sold 4 cars in the last 45 days? I understand that this number isn't perfect as dealers maybe hadn't updated their websites but the stop sale had been in place for awhile.

Stop sale due to manufacturing issues (ie:seats). Maybe “paused production” fits but sounded a bit pre-planned.

My dealer has 36 on their website, but here is the catch. Only 3 are Trialmasters. I am kind of speculating that a lot of inventory that is sitting are bad builds the dealers got stuck with after the buyers declined to purchase. A quick search of my Gren's specs does not pull up much. My option list would be things that I want to be factory and would not consider a Grenadier without them. Upgraded electrical, Tow Hitch, Lockers front and rear. I would also prefer to have heated leather seats and my chosen color scheme but I could live without them.

I recall reading an article where some new Ineos dealers ordered stock with specifications and options based on other vehicle brand sales they had.
This meant they chose road based specs and tried to keep the price low by not choosing lockers and tow hitches etc.
Very early in the Grenadier life it was made clear that certain things had to be ordered from the factory and couldn't be added later.

• Diff locks

Tow hitch probably should be an inclusion.
I think many people/dealers ordering didn't take that into account.
As most of the world was initially ordering direct of the website, not from a dealer, it was more enthusiasts rather than general public ordering them.

No. Stop sale means dealerships can not sell new units, due to some significant safety issue.

Agree. Still, IOH, paused production, no substantive changes in MY25 doesn’t boad well for Ineos. IMO, It was easy for Ineos to offload inventory into the US but I don’t think dealers are going stand for this in 2025.

I was one of the early orders, delivery in 23 but paused after spending some time with the car and reading UK/AUS owner experience. I want them to pull through but from the back seat it looks to muddy.

Maybe 2026 will be my year but I wish they would clean house.

Sure they should keep improving faults. If 2025 has all the same faults as 2024( I am expecting it to be) then it looks poorly on Ineos.

Same. “Substantive changes” are 3-4 years (minimum). UK reviews are all whining about steering and “on road manners” so literally who cares. Aussies seem fine (and probably lightly buzzed) except footwell. Everyone just wants open resets for maintenance and repairs. I would expect a little smoothing on things like AC, steering pump, maybe a design improvement on front drive shaft - but not in 25, probably not in ‘26. Get the service strategy, don’t piss off your dealers, and let’s see what 26/27 brings. I might consider a second one “for around town” if they do some of the other “smoothing stuff” - but wouldn’t really even plan on looking at that until 28/29.

Other than the fact that a lot of on-lot inventory is a bit quirky- at least in the US. A good chunk of that inventory is pre-order that owners never picked up (since they had no skin in the game) - and they didn’t know what they were doing. Even early dealer stock orders often were a bit funny. My dealer was laughing at some of the stock they have on hand - like a winch but not triple locked. Customer liked “the look” of the winch but never intended to use it off-road. I did my homework in 22/23, so think I got a good build - but in retrospect would have skipped the side runners, RR bars and LED bar, and would have done the tow package. So at least if buyers spec and order now, they don’t have to live with someone else’s mistakes - but yeah, not a ton is different, other than the spec.

Yeah but that's hardly specific to Ineos, and Ineos wants as many 2024 units to sell as possible (as do the dealers) so its hardly a major concern.

My guess is most/all changes that require new tooling in the factory or newly designed components from 3rd parties are going to have to wait for a model refresh. Leaving aside 'special editions' limited runs like the 1924 and Detour of course

What we should be getting is new software. Ineos is shamefully slow on that front.
