I’m getting a funny feeling that I wasn’t very clear…
I am getting a message telling me service is overdue 4 days. It started about three weeks ago that service was approaching. The car is approaching 5k miles and six months since I got it, so I am assuming it has something to do with that. Local dealer in San Rafael doesn’t recommend service until 12k miles.
I want to clear the annoying blue message reminder. Is it something I can do with the car reader?

The days going off after 6 months means that your vehicle was built 12 months ago and the dealer never properly PDI'd it to reset that timer at delivery

And to think we all believed we were buying a back to basics off roader.
ADAS system alarms, service reminders, etc.
We can’t even turn on those very capable auxiliary lights.
It is as back to basics as a vehicle can be in 2024 really...

Nah. A 2024 4Runner is MUCH more basic than the IG, in terms of electronics reliance. Surely IA could have taken a similar approach.

The core issue is, IG’s electronic intrusion are all stupidly implemented. These are not omissions, they are explicit design decisions that are unfathomable. This is the only reason we complain.

Who the f thought it would be good idea to bong multiple times when the fuel is approaching 1/2 tank?! Or stupid service reminder bongs which the owner can’t even clear!?

And who selected that annoying ass sound? Why not a sound that is less heart attack inducing ? For god’s sake, when I am outside of the vehicle, with all doors and windows shut, that bong is still loud as hell. wtf Ineos

Considering all the annoyances I would welcome some more tech. Maybe auto windows up not just down!

The Aux light deal is borderline insanity.

And I'm in the same boat with a service reminder and still 3k away from a service. I don't need reminders.

The old 3.9L in the D90 was so simple. And if you needed a code you could pop the dash and there was a little display that would cycle through the codes. All built in and serviceable on the side of the road.

I know much of this is not Ineos' fault, but some of it is. I hope they fix it and update our trucks.

Auxiliary lights are the only rubbish part of the vehicle.
Not really worth turning on.

Old engines won't pass emissions standards so no chance.
I heard they were having back to back warranty issues on the BMW components if a dealer doesn't at least check to see if the service has been done correctly and with genuine parts or equivalent.
No doubt they will fix that issue eventually.
My service reminder has been going off for a couple of weeks and it will be a couple more before I get it serviced.

I think it's 75 miles and the gauge is just not scaled well. Nonetheless, the sound is horrific. I don't understand how it could pass a legal review. It is incredibly loud and jarring...exactly the thing that will cause an accident.

Simple fix for them would just be replace the fuel and service bong with the lane departure sound. The LDW chime so pleasant, I often drift on purpose just to hear it again. If the sound changed, then Idgaf about the stupid trigger conditions for them.

If IA truly desires for the fuel and service bongs to be jarring, they may as well throw up a jump scare animation on the infotainment screen to go with the sound
