Just came accross a Quartermaster that had a engine bay fire at 15k. checking around this may have happened to some other vehicles . any information on this possible issue ???

Haven't been aware of any specific issue; we'd be discussing it on the forum if so.
There was a mention of firewall insulation being removed as part of a tech bulletin. Not sure why.
Other than that?
What are your sources re fire(s)?

Have been talking to the owner who is very experienced . Got it last August on order and sure wants a replacement . It is a diesel . Cost a few grand to have it recovered from up a steep narrow track using a digger at each end. Looked on internet and there is a photo of a blue one with a burnt patch on the bonnet in oz

There is virtually no information re the causes of these rare fires. Could be dodgy wiring by owner, vegetation caught near hot exhaust, cheap lithium battery being charged etc
Or any number of other reasons such as fkuid leaks.
Nothing consistent as far as I know.
I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
