I have a few questions in my mind. s anyone running a lighter load rating than E? Any reason a lighter tire for less rotational mass would be a problem? I don’t want the widest tire possible but do want the largest possible that I can fit with the back door and still be ok.

What’s the largest height a tire can be before it blocks the door?

I think the closest you can go is a 305/70/17 which is 33.8"
if you are on 18's a 305/65/18 (33.6") or 285/70/18 (33.7")

Are these tire sizes just for the Back door?
Or, are these the maximum size with Stock 18" Wheels without rubbing (all 4 wheels) ?

No issues running a non E load rated tire, the factory Bridgestones are not, assuming the load rating (the number) is adequate (stock is 116 btw)

305 works without blocking the back door?

Hoping to find something a little skinnier. I’d rather have thin tires at 34”
That sounds exactly like a 255/85R17 Baja Boss AT. Someone here runs those, maybe they can comment on fit without lift or door mount.

255/80R17 does fit, seen by several here.

I just went with 255/85R17 Mickey Thompson Baja Bass AT’s on Reika F35’s and it’s 1/4 to 3/8” too big. I can open the little door but I have to open the big door from the inside. Guess I’ll be buying the bracket. Also this is stock height. After the Eibach lift springs are installed it’ll balance out, but 255/80s or some other combination that gets you below 33 to 33.5 max diameter should be fine.

You mean you have to crawl through the inside to open it? I love that look it’s perfect but I use that door every single day I can’t be crawling through.

I'd love to know how this does flexed out before the lift. I know it doesn't rub in normal driving, but it doesn't seem anyone's bothered to find out if it rubs at the bumpstop

Looking on MTs website it says those are 34.6”. 255/85r17 should be 34.07. Do you think a half inch smaller tire would allow the door to open?

So to answer a previous question, yes a one size smaller sidewall would allow the door to close. Mine are 255/85s and 255/80 would work if you can find them.
My solution was to get the Agile Off Road spare tire relocation bracket. It allowed me to open the doors easily and turn the spare face out. It bolts onto the existing mount it doesn’t replace it. I don’t know how it would at Dakar but it’s fine for my needs.
So this is with the Eibach lift springs for vehicles with winches.
