Apologies if this topic has already been covered. I did a quick search and didn't find a permanent solution posted.

On my Mazda 3 there is a quick and simple fix: disconnect the connection under the bonnet lock to make the car think it is in maintenance mode with the bonnet up.

Some other cars have a connector at the battery terminal that is an even quicker and simpler solution.

Has someone already posted on the easiest way to disable stop/start on the Grenadier?

Yes as previously posted.. cut off a small bit of the corner of a business card, fold it over once or twice and jam in the bottom of the switch. Then push the switch on. Stays on basically.

Welcome to the forum.
I have been driving stop/ start vehicles for over a decade, I just accept it is part of the starting procedure, start engine, turn stop/start off. Takes less time than the procedure of putting a seat belt on.

The good news is that I can confirm that disconnecting the electrics to the bonnet catches does disable stop/start.

The bad news is that you have to put up with a warning on the centre screen that the bonnet is not secured.

IG is my very first car that has start/stop but I can't see any problems in using it.
Some points I don't like about it:
Extra wear on the starter and battery
Extra wear on the engine from no oil pressure
A delay, which could be critical, in taking emergency action if you need to avoid a collision with another vehicle heading for you
The driver not being the one to decide
All the complication for negligible fuel savings.

l don't like stop start either
People get into heated debates about the importance of prefilling canister oil filters at oil changes. Oil analysis shows the extra metal found in the oil from not prefilling, thereby increasing the time before oil pressure builds up.

And that's about a procedure every few thousand miles, not at every set of lights with stop/start.

BMW even had to put a special orange coating on the bearings of the B58 engine to try to reduce damage from the time running without oil pressure involved with stop/start.

No way will I be leaving stop/start operating on my Grenadier or any other car of mine.

Fortunately on the Defender it's easy to change so it remembers the setting and stays off.
You just need the GAP diagnostics tool. Hopefully something similar will soon be available for the Grenadier.
