1969 Land Rover Series 2a 88 - Rebuilt and Coil Spring Conversion by ECR from 2007 until a couple of weeks ago to fund my new Grenadier that’s being delivered tonight.
I was in love with Land Rovers and Land Cruisers since I was 15 and hunted with my father and grand father in South Africa in them. I was smitten and had to have one. But it took a while. Now I am excited for my new one in the Grenadier.

How many of you have ever owned a Land Rover product? It can be a 1948 Series I, a 2023 Range Rover Evoque, or anything inbetween. Please answer yes or no and, if you would like to share which models you have owned, please share in the comments.

I currently own a 1967 2a 109 and a 1973 military lightweight. Just sold a 1993 Defender 110, 1986 Range Rover, 2004 Defender, 1958 109 safari wagon and a 1984 Range Rover LWB Country. Obviously I’m a Land Rover fanatic and love my Grenadier.

I have been fortunate to own some fantastic Rovers - Series II, IIA, III, Lightweight, RR, D110, D90, D1 & D2.

Fantastic looking vehicles...my series II looks similar to the middle one and is your grill stainless steel? Looks like the green one is also...I have not done it but they work well over the coals to cook on apparently that was a use for them in the Aussie outback...It makes sense of the word grill...a great stable you have.

Thank you, Max. The one on the right of the photo is a Series 3 109" Pickup and I replaced the plastic grille with a mesh one. Have not cooked on it, however. I think the previous owner did as the condition of it was a bit tatty. As far as I know, the other Lrs have original grills. Not sure if they are stainless.

I have to say that my ideal pairing now would be a Land Cruiser series 80 along with the Grenny. Any old Land Rover or Defender driving soon gets tiresome with the elbow closest to the drivers door, or should I say the elbow crashing against the drivers door. I do love them though.

Not had a full size LC but would love an 80 diesel.

1978 Range Rover 2 Door grey market import.
My favorite was the 1962. I drove it everywhere. In the woods, streams, hills and even on highways. One of my favorite vehicles ever!

Lordy. I had to make a list. Still on number 15. I owned the p38 twice if that shows what a sucker for punishment I am. Someone else said they bought a Grenny because they always wanted a Defender but couldn’t accept the reality of one. The one I had was a dog so I’m in the same boat. Love the spirit of the Grenny.

I was just up at the Sundance Resort yesterday in Provos Utah. I saw a modern new Defender and a classic 1990’s Defender 110 TDI. What the modern new Defender lacked was classic styling. What the classic Defender 110 lacked was a working parking brake and oil retention!
I’m really glad I drive a Grenadier now.

Haven't been without at least one Land Rover since the love affair began in 1996 with a new epsom green Discovery SE (loved those jump seats) which was the natural gateway drug to the Range Rover beginning with a ’96 P38A SE, also in epsom green (sister-cars shown)...

2001 P38A HSE. LOVED this Rover. An incredibly comfortable ride.


2006 L322. The driving manners really changed with this model. Not nearly as comfortable as its predecessor IMO.


2010 L322 HSE (pictured on delivery day in late '09). Love and still own. Comfort returned, so much fun to drive. Feels like a sports car compared to my L405.


2019 L405 Supercharged LWB. Love and still own. Our first long wheel base Range Rover. A whole different beast. Extraordinarily comfortable with next level luxury and features. The road-tripper.


1995 NAS Defender 90 Soft Top with Rover's 1997 4.0 engine & automatic transmission. As my 7th Rover, it's referred to in our household simply as "Seven." Love this truck and will probably own it forever. Three season daily driver, weather permitting.

Yes. 1999 Discovery, Rutland Red. Beauty of a wagon, and I drove it for >150K miles, but got rid of it after the fourth exhaust manifold, numerous sensor failures (including the speed sensor mounted on top of the tranny) and perennial oil leaks.

After watching The Gods Must Be Crazy all I wanted was a Landy like that.
My folks dragged one back from the scrap yard and gave it to me for my 17th birthday. Spent the next two years rebuilding it from the chassis up - 1956 Landrover Series 1 88" sw, and the only one I really regret selling.
