Grenadier Utility Belt Bracket for RotoPax Container

There are 30 litre and dual 20 litre (40l) fuel/water setups utilizing the rear quarter panel attachment points. That's 30kg and 40kg respectively plus any container weight and bracketry. (Yes, some of the load is shifted to the grab rails.) Have there been failures?
They tie into the roof frame directly. And there is a lateral side frame behind that plate that the rail ties into. I'm not so worried about that if I'm honest, the roof racks mounting into those locations are rated at hundreds of lbs load.

But as beefy as the door hinges are I worry about those being a weak link for highly and constant dynamic load. Maybe over rated but that's what I worry about.

Yea, maybe we are worrying too much. Am I reading that right, glue/adhesive? and the new mount design has the option to add rivets? Yikes!

I think Leon's thought was to use the bracket with the rotopax container for offroad use and not for continuous use. Hopefully he will report back when he uses it.

Of course, I’ll share my testing! In April, I’ll be heading to OBX for some beach and sand 4x4 fun. I won’t need extra fuel, but it’ll be a great chance to test things out.

In the meantime, I ordered some L-track fittings and just got them in. I picked up a mix of options—from Amazon (budget-friendly), US Cargo Control, and one from McMaster Carr. (pricey!).

Check out Picture 1, 2 and 3—from left to right, you’ll see the Amazon fittings, US Cargo Control fitting, and McMaster Carr fitting.

• Amazon’s L-track fittings look a lot like the ones that came with the molle panel mounted in the rear of the Grenadier. They do the job, but I wasn’t super confident in them. So, I swapped them out with the US Cargo Control fittings, which feel much more secure—I’m really glad I made the switch!

• I especially love the US Cargo Control double lug threaded stud fitting since it seems to distribute stress more evenly across the L-track.

• The McMaster Carr fitting is also solid, but honestly, it’s just way too expensive for what it is.

Looking forward to testing the bracket out soon! Talk soon.

I really appreciated the discussion on this forum, many times great discussion about issues you may not have thought of (other times some Captain obvious comments ;) . Thanks for all the input on this bracket. Updated pictures with new L track fittings and new position, closer to the hinges.

Again for OFFROAD use only.
