Did a little review of the factory cargo handle vs. the Grenadier USA vs. the Owl Offroad handle. These are great upgrades over the factory plastic handle in my opinion and offer more positive engagement/ feel. They also look awesome! Which handle do you prefer?

@Tom109 beat me to it.

Has there been any reports of the factory handle failing in service?
I get the desire to dress up individualise our vehicles but I'm not convinced this is a value-adding upgrade. That said, apparently I'm at least five years behind in fashions and trends so what would I know...

The factory ones don’t feel great but they will most likely last. I do like the look of the aftermarket levers but the prices are a bit much for what they are. If they were at least 30% to 40% cheaper then it would be a no brainer fun upgrade.

Unsure of any failures though I can envision it getting pretty scratched up, gouged, or loosened from carrying lots of cargo. Doubt it would have a severe failure, just get beat up.

I bought the Owl one and like it. The factory one, while likely perfectly robust for many thousands of uses, just has a chincy feel to it that doesn’t match with the rest of the solid feeling touch points.
Exactly, I share the same chincy sentiment, should match the rest of the car’s robustness. 🤙

Agreed, the price is a bit much to stomach for something that isn’t mandatory, but machined billet parts don’t come cheap. That said, it does act a little as jewelry 🤣

It definitely isn’t cheap, but it’s machined from a chunk of aluminum and then anodized so the process itself takes time. I’m happy with it and would recommend it if you’re in the fence. Makes me smile every time I open the big back door.

I do not like plastic levers. Owl for the win.

They need to invent ones that play God save the King when you pop the bonnet or boot doors. Now that would be bling…
