Hey! Just picked up a modular tool bag roll to stick under the driver’s seat. I’m starting to think through kind of the bare minimums to load out the bag. My initial concept is kinda like the OEM tool roll but fleshed out a bit. So, gloves, flashlight, essential tools for field repairs.

Just got my gren, so learning as I go here. Really appreciate any recommendations.

Ooh, that Gluetread is good stuff! Love the headlamp idea.

I was also thinking zip ties, electrical tape, torx 15 for the internal stuff. What other sizes are commonly used throughout the vehicle? Any other gren-specific items, or general items anyone might recommend? Thanks!

I carry a lot more than the average joe, so take from this what you will...

But for tools specifically I carry (in a Blue Ridge Overland Gear tool bag):
  • Sockets
    • 7-22mm short and deep, 24mm deep
    • 3/8" ratchet
    • 1/4" and 1/2" adapters
    • wobbles
    • extensions
    • 14" 1/2" breaker bar
  • Wrenches/Pliers
    • 8-19mm adjustable head gear wrenches
    • Small and large adjustable wrenches
    • Vice Grips
    • Needle nose, flat nose, slip joint, and combination pliers
  • Screwdrivers/etc
    • Straight, 45°, 90° picks
    • PH0-PH3 screwdrivers
    • 1/8", 3/16", 1/4" flat head screwdrivers
  • Torx/Hex
    • 2mm-6mm hex keys and sockets
    • T10-T50 security torx (keys and sockets)
    • T27 Torx Plus (keys and sockets)
  • Electrical
    • Replacement fuses for anything I've added to the vehicle or touched
      • ATC, Mini ATC, MIDI, ZCase, MEGA, MRBF
    • About 6 feet of 14AWG wire
    • Strippers/Crimpers
    • 10-12AWG, 14-16AWG, 18-20AWG heat shrink butt splice, fork, male/female blade connectors
    • Multimeter
  • Misc
    • Small hammer
    • Gorilla tape
    • zipe ties
    • flush cutters
    • silver and black sharpies
    • magnetic retrieval tool
    • magnetic and adjustable light
Beyond that I also carry an ARB plug kit, Colby emergency valve stems, Glue Tread sidewall repair kit, windshield repair kit, fix a flat, etc

Also, here's an extensive thread with tool kits

The one tool set I have used repeatedly on the INEOS is the Wera WER05056490001 Tool-Check PLUS Bit Ratchet, 39 Pieces.

Full torx set + hex, multimeter, incomplete 3/8 drive set, headlamp in the drivers side door, sometimes a torque wrench, electrical tape. Hammer. Bungee cords.

Fixed a broken alternator mount with a bungee cord once. (Not my rig… but it worked) it had just enough tension to keep the belt working…
@anand and @TheDocAUS thank you.

Torx+Hex set:

I have to admit, I'm going down this rabbit hole and loving it. Have some fun new toys that are going to be showing up over the next few days to round out the kit!

I have a minimal tool kit inside a Grenadier Guy underseat bag, but I am about to move to a dedicated tool roll in the same location.
