Factory rock sliders

They work fine for the vast majority of use cases. Lateral protection isn't fantastic, so if that's a concern (such as you want to use them to pivot around a tree), there are far better options. Likewise, if you need a step, they are nearly useless

I haven't put mine to the test yet, but they're solid and well made. However, I underestimated the need for side steps. I'm ok without them but some people have a hard time climbing in. Unless you only transport tall, able bodied guests, you might want to get aftermarket sliders with built in steps. Or just the factory steps.

There are also aftermarket step attachments for the factory sliders, but they're not cheap. I'll probably DIY something one day.

I lean the car against an earth wall or rocks and steer it arount the corner to have a laterally force. The rockslider should push the car around the corner then without bending.
