Factory rock sliders

What are owners thoughts on the factory supplied rock sliders?

They work fine for the vast majority of use cases. Lateral protection isn't fantastic, so if that's a concern (such as you want to use them to pivot around a tree), there are far better options. Likewise, if you need a step, they are nearly useless

I don't actually find that with the rock sliders. Perhaps you are confusing this with the factory steps?
