Paint codes are sometimes printed on a sticker somewhere on the vehicle.

I asked BASF* and got this reply:

Just to answer my own question ~ I looked all over mine for said sticker/info and drew a blank.

The paint code is often on the compliance plate along with the V.I N.

AFAIK, IA has yet to release the paint codes. I know @Stu_Barnes has been trying to track them down for us with no luck.

It should be possible to scan the color. Any modern paint shop (for professional painters) has such a scanner, mostly coupled with an automatic color mixer.

Or, take a photograph with a flash as the only light source and set your AWB to flash (or 5500k). This should give a quite correct hex color value in Gimp (or photoshop). For metallic paints you can apply a Gaussian blur to the analysis area to get a homogeneous result.

We will see. I’ve got this information from dhl regarding customs. I do not really know what I have to do now.

My model arrived in Leipzig/Germany this weekend. Now DHL needs some information for the customs clearance.
The goods tariff number I used is
95030099
(toys, scaled down models, made from other materials than plastic)

My first modell (the unpainteted one) arrive today. It took 6 days from Australia to my office in Germany.
I am delighted and frustrated.
Delighted because it will be fun to construct the modell.
Frustrated because it really arrived before the original, which I can hopefully pick up next week.

My experience was a little disappointing with this supplier, I see there is a number of others who had similar. I lost confidence when I eventually received an email response detailing product will be sent by end of week, 4 weeks later no product had been sent, then radio silence when emailing for update. I had to request a refund as I could no longer believe the product would arrive.
I hope those that have stuck out the waiting game get rewarded with a great model.

I just unpacked my "free gift".
having just built a wooden model of a cobra - photo below - i am a bit disappointed with what was delivered.
the building instructions are more like a guessing game, the parts are neither numbered nor marked on the sheets where to find them. the way it comes together is more or less not described at all. I'm curious how it ends.
