Does TDI not sell to the worlds 5th largest economy?

I admire your spirit, but that's not going to happen.

I am not even tempted. I spent every day of my life between 14 and 48 looking for more horsepower and torque. TDI tells us we get another 10 mph out of this brick at top speed, so 110? I'm good.

Btw I saw a 16.2% increase in fuel economy in my initial default run on the tuner at level 4. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast (or in this case efficient).
Wait, I don’t remember seeing the increase in top speed anywhere on the TDI website or the instructions that came with the tune (installing mine this week). I know we are limited to 99 mph and to be honest in this big beasts that is plenty and probably won’t ever see that number. However, I really didn’t know about the raising of the top end speed. Where did you read/hear that if you recall? Btw, I bought the TDI tune to give a little more power as I have really weighed my blue one down with all the gear/accessories, especially the SPP undercarriage plate protection kit (heavy as hell)!! Anyway, if I want to go fast, I just jump into this bad boy…….IYNYK😎

Edit: well damn if I didn’t just go back on the site and click a few more links and found it!! Never even saw that before I purchased. Interesting…..again these big lovable tanks aren’t meant for speed but it’s nice to have a little more power if needed for towing, if like me you have weighed it down with more weight, etc.

Top speed is ultimately a function of horsepower, more power more speed. These bricks have about the same drag coefficient as an F-350 but I will squeeze 22-23 mpg out of it before I am done.

I struggled with the tow package and decided against it. The Ineos gods had other ideas and substituted my build for one with a tow package I did not spec in my build and I am glad they did. "My" Trialmaster arrived 6 months early and the electrical infrastructure was worth the cost. I run to Baja pretty light but the recovery point is handy.

Fortunately, or unfortunately I do not drive 'em like I stole 'em anymore. I spoke to a ZF rep before doing this and they claim the trans is capable beyond 730 foot pounds of torque and this only gets just over halfway there at its highest setting. An additional 10-15% increase in torque gets us back to the standard BMW tune.
The ZF 8HP51 gearbox as used on the petrol models is limited to 369 lb ft or 500NM in first world currency.
The 8HP76 as used in the diesels is able to handle 561 lb ft or 760 NM

I do agree that these bad boys are some bricks, or I affectionately call em tanks. I am not trying to win any races or get 500hp, I have other vehicles for that. 😉

However, I will be installing the TDI tune this weekend and after the 20/40 mile break in, seen both numbers used, I will be maxing mine out at mode/setting #7. I always want max power available even if for a tank (for towing/climbing hills, rough terrain, passing slower vehicles yes even in a brick you can pass etc etc, more power Hp/tq can help traverse thru these scenarios IMO), and if something breaks that’s on me as the owner and I won’t be coming here to bad mouth the Grenadier for taking it beyond its factory settings (btw, nothing wrong with leaving yours alone with no tune or even a tune set at medium power band, it’s all up to the individual owner/driver). Now warp speed #1………..🫨🤘
