At the end of a 150km highway trip at a steady 90-100kmh (posted speed limis) with ambient temp. at 34 deg C, all function was lost on the display: odo and distance covered were blank and fuel and temp gauges were missing. Gaining entrance to driveway in our narrow street was complicated because the reversing camera also went u/s.
A bright orange triangle with an exclamation mark appeared in the enunciator panel.
Parked and switched off the ignition... the fans were going full bore. I don't know if the vehicle was undergoing a dpf regen. or it was just hot. Propped bonnet /hood open.. the fan noise was "exciting"!😉 (Dear wife had never heard it previously and wondered if it was about to lift off!)
A few mins later the silence was deafening .. turned ignition on, all functions restored!🤔
Thoughts?

I have had that happen when the back of the display is in the sun for a long time.. It just overheats... I was thinking about a CPU fan with a couple of small solar panels to mounts on the back of the display to cool the thing off in direct sunlight..

You have a MY23? I ask because I believe they moved to a different head unit manufacturer. Maybe this is why. @anand do you know about the head unit change

From what I've heard the screen is the same, but the actual brain has different hardware between MY23 and MY24, but then there is some other change for MY24.2 (I'm not sure what was done for the latter change)

Yes, 2023, my VIN is xxxxx20xx
I noted @ecohen2 's suggestion re. the temp... while the external ambient temperature was 34 deg C, the trip was very late afternoon/early evening... so there was no direct heat on the headunit... The cabin was a pleasant 24 deg C.
Guess I'll wait and see what eventuates🤔
