Americas Curry Ineos Grenadier of Danbury (previously Thread for the Tri State Dealer as yet unannounced)

Can’t connect to CarPlay for god knows what reason. Tried everything. Anyone have this issue and solve it? Was no problem on the demo vehicle.
@Tom109 picked his up yesterday and said he couldn’t connect either his or his wife’s iPhone.
Yeah, I can connect my iPhone, make and receive calls, but no CarPlay. I picked it up yesterday and RDS doesn’t have Tech’s on-site weekends. He said it is rare, but something IA is “watching” in case they need to issue a recall. It can be resolved. I probably will not address is for a couple weeks when I head down to VA.

I had the same issue this weekend. I wonder if it has something to do with iOS update? Removed device, paired as if the first time, back in business.

No, I've tried multiple times - removing device and re-pairing, BT or USB-C cable - only hands free works, no CarPlay. The saleman said the Tech has to connect a USB to resolve it, and they have only seen this a few times. Leads me to believe the "USB" is some form of an update.

I had the same issue. hands free worked, CarPlay would not connect. While I was trying to figure it out, I also went to my phone settings, general, CarPlay and removed the Grenadier from my phone. Then repaired it. Did you try that? So instead of removing device on the car unit, remove the grenadier from the car list in CarPlay.

Yes, no luck. I’ll keep trying as I will not get to the dealer for a few weeks. The owners manual states the hotspot must be set to ON. Mine is off by default, but even that didn’t work.

My hotspot is never on. I don't get the service as part of my unlimited Verizon plan. So that should have nothing to do with it. If you go to settings, general, CarPlay, do you see the Grenadier on the list? Hit "forget this car"

I have done that and the same on the Gren head unit.

I’ve tried to delete and repair, but will do it again. Mine wouldn’t paid at the dealer before I did the update. Michael said to do the update and try again which I did and still nothing.

Are you both on ios 17.2 - the most recent update?

last thing I did was reboot my phone and when the phone turned on, it asked me if I wanted to connect to CarPlay.

My Apple CarPlay works ok in my Grenadier.

A few things I noticed:

* did have water come down on the inside of the windshield below the mirror and down to the dashboard. Not much, but questioning the seals on the safari windows. Happened on my drive leaving Curry. Hasn't happened again in the last day.

* if you turn the fan for the heat/A/c on high, there is a sound like the fan is hitting something or there is something flapping in one of the ducts (Anyone have this too?)

yikes. I don't have these issues.

I will be at Curry tomorrow for my On-road test drive. If there is any questions or information that the forum members want me to run by the staff let me know.

Im going to ask (even though I think I know the answer) if there is a 2024 model with the ADAS available to be test driven.
