My son has a sad sense of humour.
He knows I am not a fan of tattoos and until now he only had 2 very small tattoos with his kids names on them on the inside of his biceps.
He told me he was getting two more to celebrate the fact that he has spent half his life in the army.
Didn't mention the tattoos completely covered both his arms.

Sorry but ugh, not a lover of tattoos 😑 although my son has arm tattoos.
What really put me off, was a couple of years ago in a hot summer ( relatively for Scotland) the good young lady doctor was in shorts and tee shirt. Nice I thought, but when she turned round the whole right side of her body, arm and 🦵 were completely covered in tattoos. ( didn't get to see the connecting bits).I've lost faith in her giving me medical advice

If you asked her nicely to see the connecting bits you just, might find your lost faith might rise to the occasion :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Seems to be a resurgence of tattoo popularity amongst today's younger generation... I recently fronted up to my local dermatologist who has me on a 6 month surveillance ... he was bemoaning the increasing incidence of tattoos which make detection of some skin abnormalities even more problematic...

I am the same
I grew up with the theory that only sailors and criminals had tattoos.
My son knows I am not a fan but I guess he thought it was a good way to celebrate his love for being in the army.
Particularly his roles.

I never understood why criminals get tattoos.
You choose a career that inherently you don't want to be easily identified, then cover yourself with a unique set of identifying marks.
Dumb.

Definitely a badge to say who they are...sailors anchors...an earing in that ear or both ears.
I was a smoker and had never done time...I was in a pub on lunch break in Fortitude Valley Brisbane, I could smell White Ox tobacco favored by jail mates...I tracked it down and asked the owner if I could swap a ciggy and he asked, when were you inside...not a badge of honor but a good smoke :ROFLMAO:
