Caravan World Towing Video Review (Australia)

Screenshot 2023-02-17 at 8.27.26 AM.png

Firstly, we tried to find a random trailer to tow-test the Grenadier. The problem was the event staff outnumbered the Press at the global launch of the hot-topic 4WD so try as we might, no mischievous plan got us what we really need to know - how does it tow? So call this a vehicle review, not a tow test but bear with us as the specs alone should have those of us looking to lug a heavy trailer around Australia interested.

FWIW the genset and trailer in this video of the development testing in Sth Australia early 2022 weighed around 2.5 ton according to the engineer on the first drive day in SE Qld in Feb 2022... He said that as an "impromptu" test it performed very well indeed. No electric trailer brakes... appears to be just an "over-ride" setup.

and compare that to typical caravan weights of around 1,500kg plus stowed items on board, means the Grenny will be a tremendous tow vehicle, and this will be especially so if towing smaller camping type trailers that are typically only 1,000kg

You will probably forget the trailer (1 ton) when towing on a good road.

The diesel is an engine I have seen a mate or two in BMWs tow with - no issues at all and great eccon.
