The type approval certification should be on a number of national databases but it's proving hard to view, at least for someone not used to accessing this sort of info.I also asked about EU homologation because I was worried that there could have been an issue / that this could be the reason why there are no test drives on public roads for us. They had an Ineos rep at their dealership the day before who confirmed that the homologation was done. hope this is true.

I hear ya. Ineos are treading a fine line at the moment. If by some magic, it were possible to know the exact future date of receiving a car, i'm certain that many today would be shocked to know it, and cancel their order. Although it's irritating, probably less bad to incrementally nudge...

I'd like to believe what you were told and the above will hopefully corroborate this.
It may be that the vehicles being used for the test drives are still deemed "prototypes" for financial reasons, and so either cannot be driven on public roads by members of the public/for reasons not related to prototype development/testing/showing under the criteria for prototypes; or maybe the insurance requirements to do so are prohibitive.
