I've left my car for 3 weeks locked and with the alarm on. Had 90+ percent battery on it when I got back. I have a victron smart shunt monitor on the battery as well. I have a single battery.

I just had a strange one.
Display was lit up and music playing Knockin on heavens door from spotify via the vehicle
I had turned off my car and was standing next to it, doors locked and keys in hand.

I may have a reason for that, I have had the same with the phone. During a hands free call, when coming to a stop I got out during the call and locked the vehicle. However the call continued on hands free inside the vehicle. Very annoying. It appears it is more to do with the phone not " breaking its link" with the head unit. If you were streaming on Spotify, got out and still adjacent to the vehicle it hadn't broken the link. If unlocked I know my phone is still linked for some distance, I get 2 audible pings on the phone 📱 when it links.

Are you boys using Apple or android?
I'm on Android. ( I think from previous threads Dave is on Apple). I do know my phone 📱 picks the vehicle up some distance away, the wife has been driving with hers not connected and my phone pinged and connected whilst I was down in the stables

It's all about the cider.. Dickens Cider.
and if that doesn't tickle you're bag, there are other palate titillators
"eucalyptus leaves, chopped celery, flower stems, green onion skin, raw honey, spring onions, green banana peel and beach sand , some fried pineapple and pawpaw. More fruits with green apple skin, green grapes then acacia honey. The finish is medium long and I am now getting lime cordial and aniseed."

Back to the subject: The door open switch must be within the latch. Does anybody know if it is 12 V, 5 V or LIN? As we don't have wiring diagrams some investigations on the operation and wiring is needed.

At least for DC (12 V or 5 V) it is possible to isolate this circuit from body control by a separate switch in the door panel either short circuiting or cutting it (depending on the system) for cases you don't want the body control to know that door has been opened. Possibly also for the LIN but I'm not 100% sure about this. This switch will be needed on all doors that may be opened regularly during the stay, probably as minimum to driver and load comparment doors.

Having it locked is fine. It’s just when you’re opening and closing door whilst cleaning your car, camping for days etc, it drains the battery.

Yeah, I've found the same
I must try this then. What does the function of double clicking the lock button actually do anyway?

There are no interior sensors to turn off (ie for keeping pets inside). Unless it turns off a tilt sensor (ie rocking side to side) or something.

I'm not sure. I do it because it immediately turns off the convenience front lights and rear lights that is on when I turn off the car and hit the button only once. I suspect it turns off other things too but that's a guess.
