I don’t know about the rest of you, but the Detour just seems like a margin grab. It’s mostly doo-dads - a lot of stuff we can deal with on aftermarket. I mean, if it were a V8 or something - but a grill? Headliner? Headlight cages? Struggling to see the “whoa I gotta have that” factor. So I guess they find a limited set of buyers and pocket the margin, since the production cost is probably not radically different? I dunno - maybe it’s there and I’m just not seeing it. Usually a prestige trim is compelling if it is also a performance trim - not just knick knacks. But if one of you rolled up with rock sliders I hadn’t seen, or a cool ladder, or a V8 with performance exhaust - yeah, I would get whiplash.
