I’m about to install Agile Offroad’s full skid plates. The transfer case plate gets installed to the crossbeam on a couple of existing threads and a couple of bolts that bolt into flag nuts (nuts on the end of a metal rod to position them inside). Once you’ve got it all bolted in you break off the tab to the flag nut leaving the rod inside. The plates are really heavy and attachment is very solid, so no complaints for sure. My question for others that have them, does the rod rattle inside the crossbeam? Seems like it would have to. If so, has anyone done anything to address it, like silicone inside the hole the flag nut gets inserted?
Second question, has anyone done an oil change with these plates? I assume the engine plate has to be removed, but I’m hoping I’ll never have to remove the transfer case plate. Since you break off the tabs to the flag nut, bolting it back on might be a challenge. Might be another reason to silicon inside to keep the nut in position in case you have to unbolt it.
