Being one of the original reservation holders (September 2021), I was able to take delivery of my Scottish White Trialmaster (safari windows, tow package, privacy glass, grey/black Nappa leather, heated seats and rubber floor mats) on December 28, 2023, and drove my ten thousandth mile last week. I’m happy to report that I am as happy and enamored with this vehicle as I was when I took delivery, and it has lived up to my expectations of what the vehicle could be. There have been a few little annoyances that many on this forum have shared including:

  • Tow package electronics software upgrade (recall 00302) delayed my delivery by a month, but INEOS made up for it by crediting the $800 option cost.
  • Faulty rear diff lock switch which RDS replaced on the day I picked it up
  • Sticking door lock buttons (blew out with air and lubed)
  • Three “check engine” episodes over the summer immediately after fueling – all three were attributed to the code p193208 fuel level plausibility. INEOS discovered that the cause of this was an error in the unit conversion (gallons to liters) in the software and came up with a software patch – tbs003368.
  • Low Oil Warning – after pulling off the highway and driving to an AutoZone, I was surprised to learn that there is no actual measurement feature, just a code that says “add 1.0L”. After adding two quarts and letting the engine cool of for 20 minutes, the warning light remained lit, but did turn off after a few miles on the highway ten minutes later. I am hoping that INEOS will figure out a way to program the oil measurement feature to provide and actual oil volume – the only way to know how much oil is in the engine is to drain it out!
Overall, the vehicle has been terrific as my daily driver. I like the way it steers and enjoy the heavy ride. My wife bought me the window snow covers from Overland Gear Guy (because the vehicle lives outside and doesn’t fit in the garage!). It has Melville & Moon front seat covers, and I am hoping to get the rear covers soon (from Overland Kitted in Prescott, Arizona). Have ordered the Step Sliders from Dissent Off-Road in Colfax, California and will report back when they arrive and I install them.

I have had the Grenny out in the snow and on the beaches for surf fishing. I did manage to get it stuck in some soft sand but was able to quickly crawl out by locking the rear diff (great day!). Happy to report that the first 10,000 miles have been wonderful. RDS Automotive Group of Devon, Pennsylvania are a customer-oriented INEOS dealership, and I have come to know their service department as a capable and professional unit. Looking forward to the next 10,000 miles and meeting up with INEOS owners in the northeast.
