Just bought 5 Black Rhino Yellowstone gunmetal I'll keep the steel rims laying around. When the first round of tires wears out maybe a 285/75 R18? I'm not forking out the cash for the INEOS Rims - geeeeeez. This felt in the right spirit?

...the specified size is the same. The tires in the Trailrecon video are Coopers while Brian from Goose Gear installed Toyos. Both tires are 285/75R17 but the Toyos are obviously bigger and would have rubbed if driven on the same trails. Yes the Grenadier in the video has taller springs but...

Be aware that the K02 in 34x10.5R17 is smaller than specified by BFG. The actual diameter when inflated is closer to 32.9" not the specified 33.5". I learned this the hard way after installing them on my brothers Jeep.

Slightly? I don't think there is an actual metric, at least nothing publicly shared outside BFG... Comparing a E rated 285/75/17 and the D rated 34x10.5R17 Section Width: 11.3" vs 10.5" Diameter: 33.9 vs 33.5 Max Load: 3195 vs 3085 Weight: 61.3 vs 54.6 Tread Depth: 15/32 vs 15/32

What tires and extra gear were you running? I average 12.8 mpg (13.44 mpg correcting for 5% taller tires) over 45k + miles with 285/75/LT16 KO2s, 2” OME lift, ARB front bumper and full length roof rack. Probably 5k miles of that I had an ARB RTT on the rack.

Thanks for the tip. I actually managed to get them for 20% off - and they actually got delivered yesterday. Thing is, my truck does not yet exist, but I figured the marked down price would be the lowest I'd find.

I'm pretty sure someone already did 285/75 without the springs. With the springs I don't think it would be a problem. The rear door clearance may be an issue?

265/70 in standard on the 17 inch rim, if you want to wider but do not want to change the speedo reading or reduce clearance a 285/65/17 will give you the same height. 265 to 285 is 20mm wider tire. A 285/75 is a higher overall by 3 cm or 1.5 cm higher ride height.

...there. Right now I’m leaning towards Method wheels, maybe the 706. Not sure though. Without doing any price shopping and just hitting TireRack 5 method 706s, BFG 285/75/17 Km3, 5 new TMPS, mounted, balanced, and shipped for $3,300. Naturally I’ll shop around but that gives me a ballpark price.

They are just a hair taller than the traditional 285/70/17s, but, as I'm sure is true with the 255/85/17(in comparison with a 285/75/17 or 305/70/17), they will fit with much less work due to their narrower tread width. aye that was what I was referring to. if his "285/75..." comment was correct then depending on rim size they are closer to 34's or 35's than 33's, if that makes sense.

That Blacksheep vid. If those tyres are 285/75 then they are 33.83" on 17" rims or 34.83" if on 18's. I like the 2.5" lift and whatever size tyres those are.

Going to a 17x8" + 40mm offset would net; 9mm MORE inner clearance at susp EXTEND an extra 21mm outboard towards fenderwell 285s look proper IMHO; I'm still stuck on 285/75/17 (34.1"dia). I dont think there will be a major issue when you have all 4 wheels a slightly bigger size. The problem will be having a spare a different size. That is likely to be a problem. I wouldn’t do it. If it doesn’t fit on door, Black Sheep Innovations is making an offset spare adapter mount which...

    Is the IG underpowered?

This is my thinking too. Normally aspirated vehicles loose as much as 30% of their power at 10k feet while a turbo charged vehicle like the Grenadier should maintain a good chuck of its efficiency (assuming the turbo is sized correctly). So the difference should be bigger. Someone mentioned...

My current favorite tire is the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT.  It's available in 285/75-17, measuring 33.82x11.5 on an 8" wide wheel.  Old rule of thumb is that for each 1/2" of rim width, you can add/subtract 0.2" of section width, so on the 17x7.5" wheels shown on the prototype tour, that's more...
