I’ve discussed this in a few previous threads but thought this warranted its own.
Background: 3 weeks ago a land rover slid into me in the snow. I was stationery, he couldn’t stop. Just an accident, these things happen. Nobody hurt. Grenadier needs a front wing, wing top, headlight, some plastic bumper parts.
Insurance company took it to a Bodyshop for assessment and repair. They issued the damage assessment report very quickly (car arrived with them at 1600 and I got the report at 0930 next day). However bodyshop don’t have access to exploded parts diagrams or parts listings to identify the parts they need to do an estimate for the repair. This seems to be the blocker.
Neither the Ineos service centre or sales dealer seem able to help - Bodyshop claim to have spoken to them both. I’ve tried speaking directly to them and not really got anywhere.
Spoke to Ineos customer service who say to have the car taken to an Ineos partner for repair. Neither the dealer nor service centre are accident repairers and advise to have the vehicle taken to a Bodyshop.
See the problem?
Bodyshop can’t get the parts
Ineos partners can’t repair accident damage
It’s been 3 weeks and I am rapidly getting pissed off.
I asked Ineos customer service about the parts diagrams and workshop manuals being available to customers and third parties and got this response:
So it seems they are still planning on making these available but they don’t know when.
I love the concept of this:
We know you depend on your Grenadier. You can't afford costly downtime.
So, our approved network of local workshops will carry common parts and we'll aim to provide delivery in maximum 48 hours for any we don't have on the shelf.
We've teamed up with an experienced automotive logistics partner and have a central European parts centre as well as extra regional hubs. So, we can get parts and accessories to you quickly, wherever you are
We've also developed an interactive parts catalogue to make it easy for you to identify exactly what parts you need, and to place an order for them.“
But it’s clearly not working.
Anyone had a similar problem? How did you fix it?
