Rear lockable drawer storage at least 7 inches(175km) interior height?

I already had the Yakima MOD drawer system, which works pretty well with a few adjustments and lays nearly level with the back seats when folded down. It’s also modular so you can add and delete additional upper drawers and/or baskets, which is nice. May ultimately go with a more permanent solution though.

Also, I probably need to post this in a new thread, but the Pakmule Scout, paired with the Rig’d Supply RambleSwing (off-road capable swing out hitch) is a great addition for accessible gear storage for the Grenadier. I went with the 7” riser on the Pakmule Scout to preserve as much departure angle as possible. Very sturdy and functional set up.

I went with the Diabolical drawer. I modified the internal drawer dividers so that I gain maximum length from corner to corner. The height is perfect for me. It allows just enough room to fit the dog kennel below the bison rack. Flat platform with seats folded. Lockable drawer but not the same level of security platform as @ShootingCar ’s Truck Vault.

RobS, if you haven’t seen it yet, Ruffland has a new “Backseat Rider” kennel that has the same dims as the Intermediate, but is a few inches shorter and should fit in the back on a drawer with the seats up. It’s roughly the same length as their Medium kennel, and I’ve tested that and that fits with the seat up and a folding table mounted on the rear door. I have intermediates now, but I have a pair of the Backseat Riders on order.

I have been looking at the Rufflands also to get an easier and shorter in height crate to fit on my truck vault as my wire crate will only fit if I erect it in place. However I may be downsizing in dogs from a very aging Gordon Setter to a Cocker Spaniel puppy in the next year. So I may be going to a small crate anyway.

I’m in the final stages of pulling the trigger on buying a Grenadier, and part of my due diligence was to call Truck Vault and ask if they have made a drawer for the IG. The answer I got was that they had a lot of requests, but they’ve been unable to get their hands on a vehicle to measure. It seems like they 3D scan the vehicle.

Long shot here, but if anyone is in the vicinity of their facility in Sedro-Woolley WA 98284, maybe you can help our.

I have worked with them on my custom build for my truck. I ended up buying a K9 Police Drawer with a hydraulic lift from their outlet and then ordering a separate slide out table from them to be installed below the drawer box. It is taller than if you bought it together. But the dimensions all worked out for me. I have shared my build including the wings I made for it in my post on the Truck Vault.

But the final dimensions of the footprint that fit are as follows:

40” wide between the wheel wells by 31” deep from the back of the rear seats to the rear doors with enough room to grab the right door handle to release it.
You will want 4” wide by 31” long wings or slats on each side to extend to the upper wheel wells to create a complete 48”wide by 31” deep table top surface.

If I was doing it again, I would order the drawer with the slide out table as a single unit. I like the depth of the magnum depth drawer to get the maximum amount of storage and having it accessible. But if you don’t want to make it so tall, you can opt for shorter drawer.

You will also have to anchor the unit into the floor. My Trialmaster came with the floor tracks. I used track bolts and had angle brackets made to bolt into the tracks and then into the back of the box towards the rear seats. There’s also enough space between the back of the box and the rear of the rear seats to fit my hi-lift jack with the base removed. It carry other recovery gear in the side slots under the wings.

Get a Grenadier. I love my setup for bird hunting and fly fishing.

Thanks. If I buy it I have a source who can do the 3D scan they want, so I’ll try to go that route. I’d like the full install with the filler panels, and that’s the way to get it.

Thanks again,

Don

Check the Ineos website configuration tool. They offer just what you are looking for now as an option. View attachment 7875696
Does anyone know what the texture/finish is on the top? Metal/hard plastic/rubber? Also, I don’t see this on the accessories brochure - just the config tool. Can it be added as an accessory after build completion?

I live in Seattle and recently took delivery of a Grenadier. Depending on the time it would take for Truck Vault to 3D scan, I'd be happy to drive up there and have them take a look. Is there someone in particular you've talked with at Truck Vault?

Talk with Rochelle there.

I am looking into the Yakima Mod as well. What size is yours? The large model?

Regarding the diabolical drawer, it looks like aluminum, are there any extra rattles or other squeaks during normal driving?

As an aside, the price delta between say a Bronco/Jeep drawer system and a Grenadier drawer system which are virtually identical besides a few inches here and there really chap my ass. This is pretty common across the entire aftermarket but still, annoying.

Yes, aluminum construct. I haven’t experienced any rattles or squeaks from the drawer. I agree. The Grenadier premium stinks.
