Good morning. By chance has anyone attempted to decorate their Grenadier for Christmas? Wondering what the easiest setup would be to convert power and plug some lights in on top or maybe a wreath on the grill. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please post pictures of your Grenadier is sporting holiday cheer!

Now THAT is a good use for the exterior aux ports - please send pictures!!! I need to see one in SG with a white roof and red frame! This is really what the Grenadier is for - another way for dads to embarrass their kids.

Also throw on something like this - with the lights and everything - and play the worst Christmas music you can find. Maybe Wham! Last Christmas

String a lighted garland along your roof rack? A wreath on the bumper and the rear wheel?
Inflatable Santa on a fender wing? Opportunities are endless 😁

We should put it in the build thread. “Most Tasteless Holiday Build.”

I would think you could use 12V lights and then plug them into the pre-wired plugs on the roof if you got an adapter. Something like this? But I'm no electrician:

I would think so - just clip off the AC plug, splice on a deutsch connector and put a heat shrink wrap at the junction. I don’t know, @parb - Florida Man is always tough to beat when it comes to tasteless, but I get A LOT of Clark Griswold energy from this forum - I think this race is wide open. It will probably come down to which one you can see from space, but the Germans or Swiss could always switch up the game with some clockworks action. This could go in a lot of directions.

Searching Amazon for Deutsch connector based Christmas lights net nothing
You can get the Deutsch DTP adapters (the right gauge) from Agile - and get a crimping tool from them as well. It’s under “electrical.” But it would be hilarious if someone actually offered DTP Christmas lights out of the box.

I think it should work - but my approach to electrical stuff is to mess around with wires while everything is hot, zap myself and hope my heart restarts on its own, redo the job 3 times and then when I get it working I don’t know what I did. But I did clip off the adapter on a Thule license plate light and replaced it with those DTP adapters from Agile and it worked just fine. Someone smart like @anand can probably say whether it would work for a string of lights.

This is actually a really cool idea in my kids and all our friends will love it. What type of adapter is needed to plug into the roof auxiliary ports to convert them to just standard 110 LED plugs?
