You need to spend time on the Tacoma / Tundra forums. The new prices along with the new Toyota engines - one being a gas hybrid and the other occasionally self destructing - are causing the enthusiasts to have an absolute meltdown.
Should have a look at the Australian Land Cruiser 300 series pages because one company showed a video of two failed F33A-FTV V6 diesels, including one they cut through the cylinder block and Toyota rejecting warranty on an influencers heavily modified LC300 engine failure. One that seized due to the lack of oil and one that failed due to possible oil degradation and the influencers engine is unknown. Now LC300 owners are having a melt down or have become FB engine experts because of a few suggestions from the workshops.

Great minds think alike!
Here is my ‘22 Tundra TRD Pro - (sold it when I bought my first Grenny but recently acquired the new Tacoma TRD Pro - I need a pickup)
I’m also former US Army -
and I also own two Grenadiers!
Wow, we have LOTS in common!! Thank for you for your service!!!🙏 I say that to anyone who has served even though I did as well. Just important for me to let you/them know how much that means to me. Won’t go into details here as I already explained in a different thread how I am a huge military guy/supporter.

Ok we are hi-jacking this thread….we both have also poured money into Ineos (well to be fair not as much as Sir Jim 😉), being two time Grenny owners. So back on topic…..😎

Btw, I plan on getting the Quartermaster too when it hits the USA. Maybe you are considering the same thing. So will have to come up with a new username with 3, yes one will be a QM. You said you needed a pick up so a trade in for the new Toyota could be in the future. 🤷‍♂️🤪
(I know back off topic again 🤦‍♂️)

What do you guys use the second one for? Modify one, leave one alone? Modify both but differently? I’ve lost a car to being gone for a season and having water ingress while away which led to CATASTROPHIC molding. Complete loss. So I got every option except the safari windows -out of fear- but it sounds like that’s been fixed so I’m considering getting a second one too but with the windows since they’re arguably one of the more iconic bits of the car besides the overhead switches. I was on the fence between Scottish white and magic mushroom originally but landed on the white in the end since all my cars are white. Maybe the second one could be shroom.

Here is the long story of how I ended up with two Grenadiers.

I ordered a Scottish White Field Master with rough pack, safari windows, leather, etc., when the pre-orders first came available in 2022.

When my order went in to production in late 2023, the dealer called and said they require a test drive and, upon approval, a further deposit to hold my order. Otherwise, the vehicle I ordered would go to another allocation.

When I attended my test drive in early January of this year, there was a Trial Master in Queens Red in the showroom. It had all the extras - winch, roof rack, aux power, lockers, tow package, etc., After perusing the showroom and looking at a dozen Grenadiers, I decided that I liked the cloth interior better than leather. I also preferred the steel wheels over the alloy wheels that were coming on my order. I also discovered that after market tow packages weren’t a realistic option. Some buyers remorse was creeping in. I thought the the Field Master I ordered might be a little too refined for my tastes - plus, I needed towing. I also loved the deep burgundy earth tone of the Queens Red. I still do!

At that point, I was told my white Field Master order was still nine months out. It would arrive in 4Q 2024. That was too long to wait. I inquired if I could purchase the QR Trial Master that day and still keep my SW Field Master on order. They were more than happy to oblige. I drove home from my test drive with the loaded QR Trial Master.

A week or so after getting myTrial Master, my wife took it up the hill to go skiing. The route to the ski hill involves 100 miles of very lonely highway over two mountain passes - Cameron Pass and Willow Creek Pass, both approx 10,000 feet elevation along with 14 miles of sparsely maintained dirt road.

The weather on the passes is unpredictable. There is no cell service and very few people live up there in winter. It’s also home to wolves, lions, etc., Breaking down, being stranded is not an option, especially when traveling alone.

Sure enough, it was blizzard conditions going over the passes that day. The Grenadier handled the drive with no problem. When my wife got home that evening, she declared that she wanted a Grenadier and was willing to give up her Lexus hybrid.

Lo and behold, my Scottish White Field Master that was supposed to be nine months out showed up at the dealership six-weeks later…

We now have a combined 15,000 miles on our Grenadiers - with several hundred, hard off-road miles in Moab and elsewhere on mine. We are both very pleased. They’ve been reliable, super fun and, unlike me, clean up nice for dinner on the town. 😜

Amazing! My first reaction is can I marry your wife! ;) she sounds AWESOME!!

I couldn’t agree more on the steel wheels/trialmaster in general! I understand what they were going for with the field master but it just seems kind of lost to me… gives up some of the add ons I see as quintessential and iconic for the car and also isn’t refined enough to be compelling for me/what I expect the typical LAnd Rover buyer is looking for. I have yet to see a cloth interior but love my leather 🤷🏼‍♂️

Just buy either model and then add all the bits you want from the other spec, that's what I've got. Just wish it had the tow hitch now I know how difficult to add later.

Yeah I went every option minus safari windows because I was paranoid about leaks having lost a car to a leaky sunroof before (leaked for months while I was away). Just saying I get what the company was going for with the field master just seems like it’s not different enough to be a “lux” option for the mall crawler/footballer crowd. I.e. just option out what you want vs a real lux version. An analog would be the Yukon (base spec), Yukon AT4 (offeoad spec), and Yukon Denali/Denali Ultimate (lux spec, essentially an Escalade with GMC badges) - we have the base grenadier and trial master which I see as the Yukon base and AT4 equivalents but the field master just seems like a half measure and not a Denali type of trim option. So, in my view it just needlessly complicates the model options. But hey, my opinion is worth what Sir Jim paid me to give it, £0!

I agree with the pop up sunroof, always bothered me as they are prone to leaks and we've been proved right, but like a sunroof and can confirm that I am on my 2nd set of seals.
Fieldmaster with lockers and external aux power points with switches. I don't have the snorkel as not keen on the look and don't need it, hey, I don't need the rest of it but can at least put some of it to use.
I do need heated seats water and summer, with aircon on

For me, you hit the nail right on the head….”What do you guys use the second one for? Modify one, leave one alone?”….I first purchased the Eldoret blue one and immediately started to customize and also immediately feel in love with it and just decided to buy another in Queens red one month later and leave the 2nd one stock. Also nice to have one modified with all kinds of extras (lift, big tires, suspension upgrades, engine tune, etc etc all listed in other threads/past posts if you want specifics) and to compare the drive/ride differences and if causes any issues in the modded one. So far no issues and some pros/cons like everything!!! These things were built to customize/modify. So I’m going to the more extreme and gonna end up modifying the Queens red and buying an all black Quartermaster and TRY to leave it stock. It’s just so hard and we all know there are tons of vendors starting up and older ones coming out with more and more great products specially for our vehicles. If I end up doing 2 & 2 (2 Grenny’s and 2 QM’s), I’m gonna have to sell some of my other rides and will worry about crossing that bridge if/when I come to it. Can you guess the stock vs modified one? 🙃🤪😎

Edit: had to throw in sorry to hear about you owners with leaks around the safari windows, but the EB has those and no leaks at all. We even had a “little” hurricane cat 2 come thru town and Ole Blue was parked outside as really wanted to see if they would leak and luckily not, and I assure you it was hit with massive amounts of wind/water. I’ve been told there were some initial issues with the leaks, but they have fixed that issue on newer MY24 models. 🤷‍♂️

You should charge admission to drive by your house with those Grenny’s out front!

I hate to say it but both aren’t always there 24/7. If I park all my rides at this house there won’t be enough room for them all. I do have a couple other properties that are rented out, one to one of my kids and he and his roommate “allow” me to park a couple rides there in the garage (shocked the blue actually fits by 1” literally) since they don’t pay me any rent!!! They do pay the electricity, alarm, cable, etc. I think that’s a pretty damn good deal. So he and his roommate just park their rides in the driveway. I also have a best friend who is in the storage game and has several storage facilities and lets me use one usually rented for boats/Rv’s (wide/longer than usual) to park in one of those. So it’s a constant rotation thing. HOWEVER, I always have one Grenny at my place as that’s my current daily. I LOVE autos man. If I was really wealthy I would own a garage full of them (not Jay Leno big, but 25 or so). I am jonesing for the Quartermaster to hit the USA to get an all black one. I just really hate the thought of paying that dang 25% B’s chicken tax doe important trucks in the US!!!!!👎

and humans..... :)🤣
Yet the human population gets on pretty well with themselves, and tourists feel very welcome and safe.
You should visit; there are cruise ships if long distance flights are too tough. Ot even overland 🙂
All the scenic wonders of Europe , plus better coffee. Even in the smallest towns .

And if you like pies 🤔. They make pies out of everything and mostly very good. And better fish n chips than the U.K.
Edit. Oooh sorry I’ve gone off topic.
