Well… I reached my 5500Km and wanted to get the break in oil out.
I’ve decided to go with the Penrite C2 0w30 like so many others here have, and I got a sweet deal. 7L at supercheap on sale till end of day today $89 down from $130 SCORE!
I had an OEM filter I purchased when I initially picked up my truck from the agent, so decided to take the plunge.
Couple of learning lessons:
1) use a bucket rather than an oil pan. I got one of those 10L plastic tubs that have removable plugs and drain ports. Have used these successfully in the past, however the oil splashed off the surface in 2 directions 90 degrees to the stream out of the sump. Made a huge mess on the garage floor.
a shorty 10L bucket would have been a better option.
2) I can’t seem to get my vehicle to run an oil level check.
-I’m on a level surface ( 1 degree on infoscreen)
-operating temp 90 degrees coolant, 58 degrees oil.
-in park / neutral.
I can’t get the “Ok Start” button to work… am I off on my parameters? I know I put in 7L of oil in from my Jug, need to find a .1 to add…
3) wish the dipstick was functional.
Otherwise it wasn’t too much of a chore. 1/2 day job at most!
