Who was your rep?
It was Earl, now JacobWha was your rep?
Is Jacob Kevin’s brother? Earl was my contact to start with but Kevin has been my go to guy the last couple months. IA screwed my order up by never converting it from a quote to Sales Order. Kevin helped me out by converting it in mid October but that put me way back down the line. Unfortunately my expected delivery isn’t until July.It was Earl, now Jacob
Not sure. I have only met Earl and Sean, and said hello to Sean's brother, who's name I'm blanking on. Jacob I've only spoken to by phone.Is Jacob Kevin’s brother? Excited to see yours is at the dealer pending final PDI!
Who?I was at Elliot Bay yesterday (picking up a non-Grenadier vehicle). I got a test drive with Mike Jones, their new overland specialist, who will be arranging monthly events starting soon. Pre-production Grenadier drive was excellent. I only got to drive it on the road, but handled better, was quieter, etc. than I expected. Very impressed. I also got to see the service area with all of the non-delivered Grenadiers. It was a thing of beauty to see so many of them lined up. I'm almost glad mine wasn't on the first boat since it would be tough to know it's been on the shore since 11/11 and still isn't available. I'm hoping that they will have the kinks worked out of the process by the time mine arrives and the techs will be quicker with the inspections/installations. In any case, I was impressed by the dealership overall in my first dealings with them and am hopeful about the next steps and service.
Not yet. I'm going to have them put on though. I feel like whatever damage from the holes will be less than the paint damage over time from leaving those surfaces unprotected.That's great news MGSIII! Glad to hear they plan to do regular events.
@Bruce - I see your spec includes checker plates, I ordered those as well. When I was there in October for my on-road test drive, I asked Kevin what the process would be to affix them. He felt confident the installation wouldn't compromise the warranty or introduce potential rust points. I'm still on the fence about them and want to see what the installation process will be. Drilling holes through the fenders and factory galvanizing/paint doesn't seem like the best option. I was hoping there would be a factory provision for them that if not optioned would leave the holes covered/protected. Have you heard more about the installation process?
Hopefully that's true. Make sure to post pictures when you pick it up. I'm excited for you! I like the look of the SW and MM. I ordered Brittania Blue to go with my theme of owning blue vehicles (I've owned no less than 7).Not yet. I'm going to have them put on though. I love the Brittania but had a blue M3 and all the pollen around here contrasts so much more on blue than other colors for some reason. I had to wash that car every week. Since switching to my silver 4runner I may wash it once a year. Trying something new with the white as every one of my cars has been a different color. Red Sentra, gray GTI, blue M3, silver Toyota. Only exception has been our family car, which has almost always been dark gray.Hopefully that's true. Make sure to post pictures when you pick it up. I'm excited for you! - Aux panel "fix" is adjusting a wire if it is pinched.Elliott Bay is my dealer and my car is there. I live in Montana. I'm not keen on driving home only to make a U-turn a little later for the next fix, whatever that may be. I want the car 'made ready' before I collect it and Elliott understands this and is very cool with the idea. (Up to a point, I am assuming.) I ordered the tow package, high load overhead aux switch panel & electrical prep, 2nd battery and front+rear+center diff locks.
I am looking here to clarify a few of the 'growing pains' issues plaguing some of our Grenadiers. What are the real versus imagined initial (pre-delivery) fixes for these cars?
* Tow package - I understand this one. I won't collect the car until towing is 100% corrected (hardware and software).
Are initial fixes anticipated for anything below?
* Overhead aux switch panel
* Diff locks
* Adas system
* Other (?)
Many Thanks, Dave
I can attest to a nope on this one. By chance LA got a pounding rain storm the day @Stu_Barnes got his truck. The boot wash is still in effect - he sent me a nice video. Maybe he’ll post it here.(door seals retaining water)
Thank you! That's good news re: the aux panel fix. I can live with the Adas sequence. Overall, I want to know IF some update is coming... do I wait or collect the car? Some people (Facebook post) have had trouble engaging the front diff lock. Real or imagined; I don't know. Thought I'd check here as my EBA guy can only tell me so much... Obviously, I'd like to collect the car as soon as I can without a 1400 mile penalty.- Aux panel "fix" is adjusting a wire if it is pinched.
- Diff lock fix for what exactly?
- A change to how ADAS is deactivated has not been officially announced or even acknowledged by Ineos corporate; I would imagine this is months down the pipeline and low on the list as it can be easily disabled through the menu (yes, I understand it's annoying, but at the end of the day, it's a whopping 5 seconds to disable it before driving)
- Any other "concerns" from the MY23 vehicles were addressed prior to production of MY24s to the best of my knowledge (door seals retaining water, and HMI revisions for instance)
Congratulations! Are you the first Grenadier delivery for EB? Thank you for the post and picture.Happy holidaysPicked up my Grenadier from EB on Friday. Great experience and wonderful bunch of people. Mike spent over an hour going through the vehicle front to back, explaining everything. They have 40 Grenadiers on the lot getting prepped for customer delivery. As was stated above, they are planning several off road events hopefully from Feb. My rock sliders and rubber floor mats were installed but still waiting for the rear load space partition. They just received a delivery of accessories and are getting more almost every day.
