I believe someone posted the actual terms and conditions in this thread: https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/u-s-pre-order-terms-conditions.12412295/. Basically, looks like you are not on the hook, and can get your reservation fee refunded, if you don’t like what the dealer is offering once they get in touch and ask you to sign a contract. Makes sense since I don’t think you can’t actually have a contract without knowing the price.

I feel like I've read it somewhere, but can't find it. If I preorder, when am I actually on the hook for the full amount or any additional amount? I'm afraid of dealer markups, if I end up reading more issues from European customers maybe afraid of the vehicle itself, etc. Curious to know what I'm legally/financially obligated. I know this has been answered by Ineos or maybe on here, but can't seem to find it.
Afraid? You aren’t on the hook for anything until you sign a contract for an amount that you’ve agreed to pay and even then no dealer is going to take you to court to enforce the contract. This is pretty basic stuff

I cannot see the problem that our NA friends are worried about.
Place your order, keep your spot in the queue, you can ask for your deposit back at any time before you sign a contract. That sounds very reasonable from Ineos.

When the time comes to sign your contract, it will be obvious who the NA dealers are, and it will become obvious on this forum who will be the dealers who are going to charge you crazy dollars to deliver the car, and which dealers wont. Then you just decide if you want to travel to a dealer that is being reasonable or not - and whether it is worth those travel dollars/state taxes/freight costs or not. It only takes one dealer to say that he won't be adding any additional fees - and then all of you will be using him.

Where are you in Idaho and more importantly do you fish?!
I'm originally from Kellogg, fished a lot of the chain lakes around the Coeur d'Alene River. I studied geology at the University of Idaho, thus Idahorocks. But I ended up in the Texas oil patch where I only get to see the rocks on a computer screen here in Plano.

Plan is for aftermarket sliders (Black Sheep?) ASAP
I like those sliders too. Nice and tight to the belly so they don’t alter break over angle as much as some of the other designs I have seen.

I’m in too! I had a few non-starters - sunroofs, snorkel and steel wheels - so I built a wagon:
  • Magic Mushroom
  • 5 Alloy wheels
  • Heated Utility seats & Waterproof covers
  • Lockers
  • 2nd battery
  • High Amp switch panel + 400W power outlets
  • Heat-reflective glass
  • Full roof rack & ladder

I have updated mine. Turned out that it is basically Trialmaster with deletions of unnecessary or less important items to me which are 1) Raised air intake 2) AUX and Power, and 3) Interior rail. The total price became $86,285

Adds:
1. Donny Gray
2. 17" Aloy Wheel
3. Side Runners
4. High Load Auxiliary Switch Panel & Electrical Preparation
Delete:
1. Locking Wheel Nuts

My price settled at $82,000 - I could add little more but I just like the number as it looks clean. Lol

I addressed option comparison trim by trim on my YouTube channel. Now I started from Grenadier trim (not Trialmaster or Fieldmaster).

My philosophy on this order is (1) try to remove options that I can add later through aftermarket, (2) avoid dealer installed parts and (3) cancel order if there is a mark-up or ridiculous $$ for dealership thing.

My options include:
Scottish white
17" Steel Wheel
Locking Wheel Nuts
Access Ladder
Safari Windows
Exterior Utility Belt
Leather Trim - Black
Premium Sound System
Compass with Altimeter
Rough pack
Class III 2" NAS Tow Hitch and Electrics

Other than those, all default in the Grenadier trim. Let me know if you have any question. I can share/answer as much as I now based on my research.

Thanks!
I did see on one video that the one locking wheel nut is double/triple the weight of the other bolts and the wheels are balanced before being bolted on. One person on the vid made the comment that the one nut would throw off the wheel balance. I have no idea - just thought I would pass along.

That guy did not measure its weight but based on his observation by looking at it. So it is pointless point for now.

My pre order is in at $88k and if the dealer marks it up over that they can keep It. Excessive mark up is the whole reason I am going his route. I will no longer do business with a local ford dealer because they wanted a $50K mark up on a BRONCO RAPTOR, even though my business had purchased 15 new F150’s from them over the last few years.
Same for me. Ridiculous.

Regarding mark-ups, would it make sense for us to start a thread later on to compare deals we're getting? We can collectively send business to dealers that are fair. In the US, it's easy to get just about anywhere within a day's flight and shipping a car (or driving it home) isn't too hard to do either. Just sharing this information should help keep dealers in check...thoughts?
Great idea!

They look awesome but they're not a step and appear to be a good way to get dirt on your pant legs every time you get in /out.

Can anybody confirm?

Their purpose is specifically to protect the body of the vehicle.

You could use them as a step, although, again, not the most comfortable or the intended purpose, this would be made much easier if you applied some grip tape to the bar. As far as the dirt on your pants legs, yes, that is a common trend with rock sliders on basically every vehicle, you very quickly learn the appropriate leg/foot maneuvers required to get in/out

I also removed the roof rack as 'dealer installed' is about as efficient as buying a toilet seat from Boeing.
