Quarter turn with the screwdriver of the car (or any other), easy. but putting it back a little bit more tricky, look at my hands and the way I hold the screws:

Do the screws physically come out or are they unable to be pulled through the holes (meaning that stay attached to the cover even though it has been removed)?

rather like a Stihl chain sprocket cover. The new ones have bolts that are retained in the cover - fantastic! Lost many before

AFAIR from Karh + Enders, they don't come off. But maybe Barney knows better.

What I remember however is exactly what Jean said: it's a stupid fiddly job to get them back in there.

I’m confident of collective creativity and engineering power of this forum:
As soon as people have their car we will see some hacks like snap closing, small star handles, 3D printed mods etc

A few rare earth magnets and some epoxy will easily secure that flap. I can picture a small cut out for two fingers to flip it down. Another single magnet set to keep the flap door in its deployed position. Obviously care must be taken for an aesthetic appearance.
