I'm organising a Grenadier owners day in East Lothain on Saturday 27th of September. A chance to meet and have a chat to other Scottish Grenadier owners.

I run Far by Four on a private Scottish Estate and provide off road driver training throughout Scotland for many business's and organisations including Scottish Mountain Rescue and HM Coastguard. I'm also a Grenadier owner and was involved in the original UK launch of the Grenadier back in 2022 ,so I know my way around the Grenadier fairly well.

The plan for the day would be to start by having a friendly chat with other Grenadier owners before we head up to the start of my off road tracks where I can show and explain to you how the vehicles transmission and traction aids work over some fairly gentle terrain. There is a lot to learn with the Grenadier and the best way to understand it all is from behind the wheel in your own vehicle, so under supervision everyone will have the opportunity to drive some of the tracks to get a feel for the Grenadier.

We stop for an informal lunch before heading out in the afternoon to experience more of the tracks and trails on the estate that can be as mild or challenging as you want. Non of the tracks on the estate are vehicle damaging and nobody would be under any pressure to drive somewhere they were not comfortable with. I want the day to be a relaxed and social and enjoyable!

If you would be interested in joining me on September 27th then please let me know via the forum or farxfour@btinternet.com

There will be more details to follow.

Good morning all.

Rather than put all the information up here I would prefer to send those who are interested an itinerary and cost via email. That way you would have all the details you need including joining instructions and I will have a more accurate way of anticipating numbers of vehicles and participants.

Hope that sounds ok? You can contact me at :

Thanks

I had a great couple of hours with Hugh at far x four and intend coming along. Spotted Hugh's Grenadier at Stringling Trailer Centre the other day when I was getting STC to fit a Wolfbox and skid plates.

Does your Wolfbox work properly? Mine, fitted by STC, lasted 10 days. Wolfbox said the rear camera was at fault and sent a replacement - again STC fitted it. That lasted less than a day. Wolfbox have sent an entire new system. I’m going to try changing the main head unit. If that doesn’t work I may be more th@n unhappy.

STC have been very helpful, as have Wolfbox, but so far it’s just an expensive white elephant.

Apologies for not responding sooner.

The rough plan for Saturday 27th September.

Start the day at 9.30 with a chat and a chance to meet everyone.

Next is a short drive up to the skills area of my off road driver training ground. Here we I can explain and demonstrate the transmission settings and off road driving aids the vehicles have. Drivers would then have the opportunity to drive their own vehicle over some of the obstacles, we would stop and discuss driving techniques along the way so everyone is comfortable with what they are doing.

None of the tracks are vehicle damaging, they might be challenging but they are safe provided the speeds are low and instructions adhered to.

We stop for a light lunch prepared by Pete 54 and his business Field Fire Fork.

After lunch we drive in convoy onto the estate to tackle more off road tracks and trails. I would envisage returning to where we started the day for around about 3.00 -3.30 pm.

The day will be an informal introduction into the abilities of the Grenadier and hopefully the starting point to more adventures! I'm also currently planning a greenlane trips through Northumberland and Yorkshire and a visit and overnight stay on a Highland estate.

Cost for September 27th will be £70.00 per vehicle and £10 per person for each passenger ( prices plus vat) . I will send a booking form out via this forum so those who are interested can book and confirm their place.
