I was in the showroom today to pick up some parts. They have a new sales manager - Gordon Boyd. They've been under-resourced in the past but he's pushing to get more staff on both the sales and technical side. He also mentioned the sales have picked up over the last couple of months, so hopefully see more of them around Scotland. I'd managed to order the wrong parts, so will be back in a couple of weeks...

That’s an interesting observation. I have a local service dealer, a small family owned independent firm (who don’t sell cars, they are purely a workshop/garage) and they are really enthusiastic for all things Ineos, it’s great.

Perhaps that’s the problem with an existing dealership taking on a new manufacturer - competing interests / loyalties / brands etc

I went in to Grange to buy a Grenadier, spent time with the sales person, told them what I was looking for, left all my contact details…… radio silence, not a good customer experience at all. Grange need a little less attitude, some more product knowledge and a lot more customer care. What annoyed me the most was being told ‘yes I now have all your details, I’ll check our stock and call you with some options’ if you aren’t going to do something then dont say you will, classic fail in customer service.

Shortly after going to Grange I took a drive down to Lloyds in Carlisle and the guys there had me sorted out in a week with the vehicle I wanted! Great service from sales, great product knowledge, after sales and service have been excellent and the showroom was dog friendly as well!! So, if you are in the central belt of Scotland, its definitely worth a quick run down the motorway to Carlisle.

I am also using the same garage now as the Baron - very big difference and I am very happy. Very good comms and attitude.

I've had great experiences with Stirling Trailer Centre, initially based on Tony's recommendation. Both for annual service and (unfortunately) when having to order some parts after I slid on sheet ice on a gentle downhill. The raised air intake and drivers door mirror will be replaced shortly. There were some delays in getting all the parts but that wasn't STC's fault and communication throughout has been excellent.

I was there today - really nice bunch and very helpful.

Mine had been into Grange several times for various faults, including getting the door buttons fixed. It would appear all Grange did was spray them with silicone (which I'd been doing). STC did it right and buttons now feel completely different and work fine. Also sorted a wiper blade that wasn't resting flat, which seemed to have flummoxed Grange. While I believe Grange's has had issues with high turnover/low staff nos, the BS has left a sour taste. Will be sticking with STC from now on.

Stirling Trailer Center have always given me excellent service with my Grenadier despite the two hour drive from the Borders. This week however I have been working near Aberlour and the car threw up a yellow engine warning light. It's running fine but for peace of mind I wanted to get it checked out, I found G&L Marshall in Huntly who are a Service Center and took it there. Even though the Ineos service portal wasn't working so the problem couldn't be resolved their attention to detail and service were brilliant so I would highly recommend them.

All the Aberdonian's rate them, but it's good to hear that confirmed by someone from civilisation. (y)
