I was in the showroom today to pick up some parts. They have a new sales manager - Gordon Boyd. They've been under-resourced in the past but he's pushing to get more staff on both the sales and technical side. He also mentioned the sales have picked up over the last couple of months, so hopefully see more of them around Scotland. I'd managed to order the wrong parts, so will be back in a couple of weeks...

If they can get more bodies on the shop floor and in the workshop whose enthusiasm and knowledge matches (or preferably exceeds) our’s, then fantastic. They have some ground to make up!

That’s an interesting observation. I have a local service dealer, a small family owned independent firm (who don’t sell cars, they are purely a workshop/garage) and they are really enthusiastic for all things Ineos, it’s great.

Perhaps that’s the problem with an existing dealership taking on a new manufacturer - competing interests / loyalties / brands etc

I went in to Grange to buy a Grenadier, spent time with the sales person, told them what I was looking for, left all my contact details…… radio silence, not a good customer experience at all. Grange need a little less attitude, some more product knowledge and a lot more customer care. What annoyed me the most was being told ‘yes I now have all your details, I’ll check our stock and call you with some options’ if you aren’t going to do something then dont say you will, classic fail in customer service.

Shortly after going to Grange I took a drive down to Lloyds in Carlisle and the guys there had me sorted out in a week with the vehicle I wanted! Great service from sales, great product knowledge, after sales and service have been excellent and the showroom was dog friendly as well!! So, if you are in the central belt of Scotland, its definitely worth a quick run down the motorway to Carlisle.

I am also using the same garage now as the Baron - very big difference and I am very happy. Very good comms and attitude.
