I wasn't happy using the standard cig lighter so I bought the hardwire kit with fuse taps.

Wondering if anyone else has used the fuse tap option and which fuse (fuses) were the best to use ??

Cheers,
Chook :-)

I used two fuses in the cockpit fuse that are only on when ignition is switched on. I used the fuse for the clock and the fuse for the front 12V cigarette lighter outlet. FC04 and FC21 from https://www.theineosforum.com/attachments/cockpit-fuse-layout-pdf.7827227/

This means the 'parking mode' wont work, but it also means the mirror shuts down when the car is turned off which is what I wanted. If you want the parking mode, you should connect the BATT yellow wire to FC14 or FC15.

Awesome Thanks :) and the Earth ? (I'm thinking with the fusetaps I may be able to switch them i.e. enable parking mode when power is not an issue and switch fuses when I want to have it off)

Cool Thanks :-) ........ The CANBUS connectors are just above so probably related to them :-)

I just installed the hardwire kit this past weekend to FC04 (yellow wire to always on) and FC23 (red accessory wire to only on when ignition is on), because I wanted the Parking monitor feature available and I confirmed with a multimeter that FC04 is on even with the ignition off (which you would expect since it supports the "clock/theft alarm/logistics" features) and FC23 (rear 12v cigarette power socket) is off when the ignition is off. This way, I have the parking feature enabled if I want it. The Parking mode can easily be disabled in the mirror settings if you want to do that. I'd rather have that ability when needed. I also tested FC21 (front 12v cigarette socket outlet) with the multimeter and I recall it tested just like FC23 as only on when the ignition was on UNLESS I flipped the ceiling panel Power switch (which would turn on both the front and rear 12v cigarette socket outlets - FC21 and 23, respectively). I chose FC23 instead of FC21 for the fuse tap just for cable routing neatness.

After the install, and after connecting the GPS module and enabling the GPS collision detection in the mirror software, I confirmed the Parking monitor icon popped up in my mirror console settings. So, mcdoogs, if your FC21 acts like mine, I'm guessing you have the setup you need to use the parking monitor feature if you want it. You can test this by plugging in the GPS module - and turning on GPS collision monitoring in the mirror settings to low, medium, or high - and this should enable the Parking monitor icon in your mirror settings where you can set it to on in a variety of flavors should you so choose - or leave it disabled which is the original setting as I recall. This is also covered in the Wolfbox manual if more info is needed.

Here's a pic of my fuse tap install:

Here is a useful pic of my fuse layout in my Grenadier compared to the layout in the manual (oriented to match the layout of the installed panel):

And here's a pic of the Fuse diagram from the manual:

I noticed I was missing a 5 amp fuse at FC13 (Emergency Call) - at least according to the manual. I did not add one, but noted it. If you are a US owner and go through this install, please let me know if yours is also missing. May check with the dealer about that. Not sure if I really need one there. If anyone has an opinion on that, please let me know.

Also, I will be posting a full blown write up of my install with tons o' pics and tips not too far down the road. The last thing I need to do is install the rear video camera, which will likely be this weekend. Too damn cold to work outside right now! I'm not going the traditional route of mounting the camera inside the window of the large rear door, since I have privacy glass and plan to install a Molle panel in that window frame, and am instead going with an exterior install. I will mount it under my rear work light under my roof top tent.

Thanks everyone I installed same as above (top fuse on each) works great. I will need to play with the settings now as @Loc Nar mentions above but at the moment working with WolfBox to fix a fault with mine (Reverse lines appearing on display even when red trigger wire is not connected)

Just to add my 2c into this discussion: I installed as per above and works well for me. On the RHD car I did not need to remove any trim to fit the fuses but it was a pain to do it with the trim intact.

Evening everyone, had the wolfbox installed today by a business, went about a quarter mile down the road got the ABS not available and LDW malfunction...Im assuming its got to be something with the Wolfbox install since I never had the issues before. Im going back to the business tomorrow but was hoping to have some advice or direction to provide to the owner / tech.

Unfortunately, intermittent error messages on the telltale display has plagued a lot of people, so it may not be caused by the new mirror install and what you are seeing is just a coincidence ("correlation does not imply causation"). Maybe mention it to your installer, but I would give it a day or so and see if those error messages dont clear out on their own. My error messages tend to pop up in the evening (and others have observed this link too), so there has been some speculation that when the vehicle's camera system can't get a clear image then it might throw out error signals to other systems. I've never had my error lights appear for longer than a day.

IG is known to throw random error codes if the Battery Disconnect (or battery low) without the vehicle being in "Sleep" mode

Yeah this, i’d definitely ask the installer if they disconnected the battery (which would be a reasonable thing to do when messing with fuses for most cars). They could have done so out of an abundance of caution and inadvertently caused issues

Not really an installer issue. IG is new and installers work on so many different cars. IG has started putting warning stickers on the battery but that's no guarantee. It happened to me once so now whenever I get someone to work on my IG I tell them personally about the issue and they usually appreciate me letting them know and not had an issue since then :-)

I think it’s a low light situation with these warnings. Someone on the Tubes was talking about it. I get the same when im on a dark road. Just means camera cant see well enough to stop you or see the lines on the road.
